The lake trout is actually a wooden carving created by a very talented gentleman I met in muskoka. His carvings are amazing. Thanks for watching.

Thanks Suzy! I recently discovered your channel. Really awesome. The bean brownies are out of this world. I tried the cherry jam. Did not set. I used one third jam. You said it can even be sugar free. What particular pectin you used. I think that was my problem. I can’t wait to watch your other videos.

I used “Bernardin” no sugar needed pectin It literally says that on the package. I’ve made the mistake of buying other brands that say light. Those still require 3 cups of sugar. I’m sorry the cherry didn’t set for you. But don’t worry , use your unset jelly as cherry syrup. It’s fantastic on pancakes and ice cream!

I just found this video, and I'm so glad I did. I just got started making jellies and jams, and if you would, could you tell me - if i'm making a double batch of jelly, would I also need to increase the amount of pectin that I use? And for the really stupid question - do you pit your cherries before boiling them for the juice? Thanks so much for entertaining this "nooby"! 💗

Hi there. Whenever you want to make double or triple batches of jams and jellies...only make (ONE) batch at a time! I have tried doubling recipes and the jellies and jams DID NOT set! It will only take a bit more time to make individual batches ...usually render about 6 (250) ml jars of set jam or jelly...to save time, a) make juice in advance have it ready to go, b) sterilize all the jars at same time and leave in a warm oven until you're ready for them c) have a large enough pot to sterilize all the lids you need. d) have all ingredients remeasured and ready to go. I did not remove the pits when preparing wild cherry juice. The wild cherries are too small, and it saves time to cook pits and all. If you are buying large cherries, you might want to remove the pit and use the cherry flesh in cherry jam. hope this helps, I think you'll have fun jamm'n! Thanks for watching
