My sweet memory of my grandmother Ruth Rudolph, she would make me homemade apple jelly when she knew I was coming. She wasnt an overly affectionate lady but she had her ways of showing love. Thanks for sparking a memory. :)

I picked a gallon of sour cherries from my dad's a couple weeks ago, cleaned and frozen whole....wasn't quite sure how to proceed because I remembered them being sour as a kid (I'm now 52) and then I remembered mom always combined with another berry....huckleberry, blackberry, muscidines....so I bought a gallon of sweet cherries at walmart.....I have a gallon of juice to make jelly with tomorrow....then it's own to mayhaw and then plum jellies......South Mississippi Gal here.
@MsLippy3 жыл бұрын
Good Morning, yes ma’am- I grew up making muscadine, plum, and blackberries because as you said - it’s what we had; but then I found apple juice when my daughter was young and I started making all kinds. When we moved here, I had a couple of gals of muscadine juice in freezer and lost it all when it went out. Happy jelly making and hope your day is wonderful 🌸

Beautiful jelly! Cherry jelly is one I have not made. I use a chop stick as well for my debubbler! 😊 I don’t do sugar free jelly for myself but one of my daughters does keto and when I make her jelly I use the sugar free suregel and sweeten with stevia..so far it has set up and worked well.

Good Morning Ms Greta, I forgot to mention, I was mashing them as they simmered with a potato masher. If you need more juice, white grape juice works well as a filler and you can’t taste the grape it just adds to your cherry juice, very delicious. Hope your day is Blessed 💕
