amazing time lapse!! i love the effect of the stars doing a log tail (0:48-1:00). How is it filmed? is it a postproduction effect created with some program like Adobe After Effects?

You can go any time. Try to schedule near a new moon and a clear night. Stars shine brightest at that time. It's really something to look at.
