Hi Dimitri. It certainly seems to be what I would call a "down to earth" ride but still also quite practical and fun. I completely agree with you that that exposed wiring is not only weird but cheapens the overall appeal of the car. I would say that a thin plastic cover and some corrugated split plastic tubing could completely conceal those wires - why Cherry could not invest another $10 into the manufacturing process completely astounds me. Thanks for pointing out the good and the bad in your review. Look forward to the next one!

As always thanks for contributing mate and yeah I still like the car and think at the bottom of the range $23 price tag it's a very good value proposition from Chery (but I'd still deal with those wires, which is not a massive problem).

Yeah the wire thing is strange. Not at all like that in my Tiggo 7 pro. Great cars! Truly the best vehicle I ever owned. Coming from VW, Renault and Toyota. My next vehicle will definitely be the Tiggo 8 pro.

Yeah I need to take a closer look at Tiggo 8 Pro for sure. Will do that soon.

Thanks Dimitri. It's all about value for money. I have a Haval H6, I love it! 7 years warranty. Yeah it has a couple of software issues but compare it to the next cheapest option... yeah/nah. Those who want to bag Chinese vehicles will always exist. They used to bag Korean vehicles and Japanese vehicles..... Go figure !

Great little car. I hope Skoda release their sub AUD 20k mini SUV into the Aussie market. I'll be a buyer.

Yeah, currently what they have is too expensive and too basic to be seen as a serious competitor on our market, sadly.

Hi Dimitri, Thank you for the video and the honest insight! I am interest to buy a vehicle between now until end of 2025 when the need to use vehicle become essential. Would you be able to share your view about these chinese vehicle (Haval Jolion and Tiggo 4 pro and other similar vehicle in this price range) for the upcoming year or so? My main concern is the reliability for tiggo 4 and what would be the best time to buy from now until end of next year

That's a pretty good review for a quick test drive Dimitri. At 4:50 you show the instrumentation - and it looks as though it is subject to quite a few reflections (having no instrument binnacle to protect from glare). Did you find that was a distraction?
@ValueCarsAU28 күн бұрын
Good question - I was driving in the bright daylight and didn't find any issues with screen glare or bad color contrast. I think it won't be an issue, but highly recommend for you to take one of these for a test drive and see for yourself. After all, we're all different.

Great review I test drove one 2 weeks ago at Chery Ryde Simon was great guy but I’m still deciding on 1 or the other waiting for the new MG ZS hybrid
@ValueCarsAU27 күн бұрын
ZS is larger and presumably more expensive, especially as a hybrid. This one is nice for people on the budget, and would compete better with something like MG3, if you had to compare.

Hi Dimitri I believe you open the bonnet more often and you can see wiring in any car.
@ValueCarsAU21 күн бұрын
I didn't bother opening the bonnet, but can (once again) tell you - I've never seen a loose wiring like that in any car bonnet before.

You are the only reviewer that has revealed the exposed wiring in the boot. Even for a budget Chinese car standard this is unacceptable who knows what else they’ve done dodgy.

I've never seen anything like it. Not saying it's a show-stopper, but it's certainly an "eyebrow-raiser". 😉

Hi Dimitri! I was wondering whether you think this Chery Tiggo 4 is better than MG3 series in terms of value for money for Drive Away price, fuel and maintenance.
@ValueCarsAU21 күн бұрын
Ugh good question mate... I think MG3 is tiny bit on the overpriced side, but it's without a doubt much nice inside than Tiggo 4 (in the top - Essence - model).
@hsucic7729 күн бұрын
I just bought a Tiggo 4 - picking it up on Tuesday. I will definitely be trying to fix the wire issue. It's very srange and I can't believe I missed it when I did my test drive etc. Also with the CVT, I found I just have to slightly adjust my driving style and it's fine. It doesn't react like a normal automatic when you put your foot down. Great review! Thank you

I bought one, but had to pay $500 dollars extra to get silver grey, WHY< they come in 5 different colours and there shouldn't be any price difference, as also, I drove about 64 kms in a 70 zone when the steeringwheel locked up, I had to pull hard, swerving, to rectify the wheel, maybe I shouldn't have bought one of them cheap imports

How do you think this compares to the MG ZST?
@ValueCarsAU28 күн бұрын
I think ZST is larger and I generally prefer it to this, but again - ZST is larger and more expensive car, and this is substantially cheaper, with newer electronics compared to our 2021 Essence model, which is probably overall it's still very enjoyable.

Looks like a great little bus. A Chinese ASX competitor. Far nicer looking than the awful Amoda. Don't worry about the wiring, as long as they have used decent quality connectors there won't be any issues. The 10 cent part that compromises a 100 grand machine is a typical Chinese trait that we deal with all the time. We try and get them to stop it but they have no understanding of the concept of not building to price on their cheapest products. The new flashy cars promise to not include this junk but I bet if you dig deep enough they will be some hiding in there somewhere. Best to just accept it and move on, I much prefer this to the rust of old Italian cars......
@ValueCarsAU28 күн бұрын
I think it's a fair product for the price too, but wiring did tick me off a little bit... It could be done neater, especially in the area where you're potentially storing a wet and dirty spare tire, if you had to replace one. And yeah I agree that even more flashy and expensive cars are hiding some of these cut-corners of craftsmanship.
@SonicView0928 күн бұрын
Yes the wiring I noticed that to looks very tacky uncomplete in my eyes
@ValueCarsAU27 күн бұрын
It's just that - incomplete and a sloppy job. This doesn't mean that it'll come apart and won't hold, etc, but I wouldn't leave it laying and bouncing around the boot floor just like that if I was buying this car.

@ValueCarsAU27 күн бұрын
Lol yeah, I agree. I guess they decided to go with something "posh" in a cheaper vehicle, which is not hard to understand the logic of, but practicality of it is just not there.
