Reminds me of when I was a child; my father was a construction worker. he would get paid on Friday, come home broke and drunk when the weekend was over and fight with my mother. One day he came home to an empty house. My mother had gotten a house and moved her four children and herself out never to return; I thank my mother for utilizing the strength God gave her I will respect her always for realizing her self-worth even in a time when [for a woman] it was not common. [early 1960's].

I remember listening to this as a little girl, crying for my mother as she took another ass whippin. As a 41 year old woman I have never and will never let a man lay his hands on me. Some people say growing under this type abuse will make you used to it. Not me. I personally stopped this cycle in my family.

Shit, my mother would have knocked a man's teeth out if he put his hands on her like that.

Cheryl Riley is the Martina McBride of late 80s early 90s R&B. Anyone who listens to Martina McBride music understands. Songs with deep messages, realistic relatable lyrics of hurt and heartbreak but inspirational at the same time. And the vocals just on point

@@4givenreeves898 Yes, even a woman can be the perpetrator in the relationship. Not many cases when the woman is the abuser are discussed. Just like there are existing nasty creepy sex offenders that are also women that go unnoticed and hardly brought to the light. It's always cases when the man was the perpetrator in one or both situations involving domestic violence or sexual abuse who was the perpetrator that gets most of the media's attention. Sadly, women who are the perpetrators in one or both situations do exist 😔.

Such a touching song. Brings back memories of old relationships with men who weren't men. Just boys in a man's body. Thinking that it was alright to put their hands on me. Thank God that I was strong enough to know my self worth. And I loved me more than anyone of them did. So I got out of the relationship s. And til this day, I tell my children that love is not supposed to hurt. And that one must love themselves before they can be loved by another. She sang this song and felt it. It shows.

I'm just trying to let it b known what a fine singer Pepsii is. I'd never heard of her until I saw a comp. clip by Brent Carter & friends, that features world class players doing 'Work to do'. She was the one artists who stood out to me; great vocals; not over-the top either. I can't find anything contemporary by her tho.

@damonwarlick I know i should have left her and even can remember situations where she begged me not to leave.. I couldn't let go of the great times and when we weren't fighting we had that.. In the end I felt used, lied to, crushed and blamed for pretty much everything.... The last time I caught her lying I read her email... So that was my fault for being a spy and she was tired of it... Privately she admitted she was to blame... but to everyone else I was a terrible guy.. Love sucks :(

I dated a man who tried that crap with me. He was even making it seem like I was making him mad and even had the nerve to call me crazy. He has displayed a history of blaming women for past failed relationships, publicly shaming her, and calling her crazy, or a Bitch. It became obvious to me this man obviously has disrespect for women and only uses them to stroke his ego and sleep with. He is just another dog, just a sophisticated one that could do tricks. I blocked him and told him to stay away from me in February. I looked his background up online on www.truthfinders.com. Turned out he never worked for the Drug Enforcement Administration because I couldn't find his name and birthday Nowhere on the list of people who work for DEA. And he claimed he had two addresses, gave me one of them, but wouldn't give me the other address. I looked up the address he gave me and again, nothing showed up. So I became suspicious that he gave me a phony name, birthday, and address. And I never got to see his credentials when he claimed he had a Master's Degree in Business Administration and worked for the DEA as an undercover supervisor. So he might have been living a lie. Plus he'd disappear and I not hear from him for days because he had to go on "emergency business trips for his job" or "was busy helping family out." So if he is not really a DEA personnel, he could either be living a double life, secretly married with kids, or be Bad News. Or he could have been really a drug dealer which could explain why I never got to see what his house looked like or why he claimed he had two addresses and that his "emergency business trips" involved traveling to other states to get more drugs for profit to sell. He even got mad and threatened to leave me if I didn't exploit my body and send him naked pictures of me upon his requests. No DEA personnel would even dare to act like that. Whatever he was doing to get a whole lot of money and spend the night at hotels, I am glad not to stay with him long enough to find out. It could be Bad News. One night when we were out, his phone rang. Turned out someone named Rachel was calling him. He ignored the call and didn't pick up. And I knew full well his job wouldn't call him late at night around 10pm so it couldn't be them if he had a job that is. I have dodged a bullet by getting out of the relationship just in time. My little niece cried when he approached her while he met my mom. She was probably picking up bad vibes from him. This is proof that babies and small kids are smarter than most adults think they are. And thinking about it, if he doesn't have respect for women, imagine how he'd treat a little girl if he has a daughter and a son. He'd probably dote on the boy and mistreat the girl.
@DamonWarlick14 жыл бұрын
Well from a male point of view.. I never had any kind of physical abuse in a relationship until my last one.. She had informed me that her last boyfriend and even the one before that had been abusive.. We were really happy most of the time until the lies started to come out.. I remember the first big fight we had.. She swung and punched me as hard as she could in the face.. After a few of these I started getting a little rough back... By the end I was labled abusive and I was heartbroken
