Exactly! I remember working with vocal coaches that would get irritated with me. It wasn't out of hate; it was out of caring so deeply about singing correctly. That's how you get better at it. I see an excellent coach who knows her student's capabilities and learning edge. you can tell by the facial expressions and body language the impact of the coaching on her work. She continues to rise to the challenges that "cattiva" Cheryl pushes her to confront. Even how the student pushes back when she disagrees shows her level of trust and comfort with her coach. Beautiful voice and beautiful coaching. Both of you are bravissime. Cheryl is amazing at creating that sense of safety even though she pushes for student development and mastery.

Girl can sing. But she needs to open her mouth more and let it out. When she gets to the high notes, it's almost like she's sucking in air to make her voice sound bigger. I would prefer listening to vocalists using their own vocal quality. In my opinion, that makes the song sound more personal and beautiful.
