Emory Tate was a Chicago-born, Indiana-bred International Master who passed away October 17, 2015. He left behind a legacy of attacking games and conducted post-mortem analysis as if acting in a stage play. With his clear, accelerated speaking style, melodramatic portrayals, quick wit and creative word play, he intrigued audiences and showed unequivocally that chess is not merely a game to be played, but an art form to be expressed. This book is a tribute to the life and games of Tate over the course of his 56 years.

i just uploaded a clip of me talking to Emory Andrew Tate. This was in Palo Alto California back in 2013- He died exactly two years after we met. He was such a witty brother and i will forever miss him. He was so keen to come to Africa and do some chess coaching

I saw the video my brother. That was Emory that we knew. I'm glad you gave him insight on Africa. There were so many sides to him. We all got a piece of him that he wanted us to have. When we share our stories and put the pieces together we see we had something special.

I hope you and Andrew and Tristain have a sit down converstaion about their father and your book. They are at the moment the most popular humans trending on the Internet.. You will have to print up new copies because they will sell out. you should try and make the book available on their website too. Just a suggestion.. they have a great loyal following

I met him, and saw him play experts and masters in Dupont Circle Wash DC - giving the very best players there time odds. There was an "energy" in his games and around him that was palpable if not electric. He seemed to just know how to "kill" you on the board:-) He was very approachable as well.

I have a video on the Tate variation. Also met Tate in 1987 through Tom Murphy (my sparring partner). Murph talks a lot about Tate in my video interview with him ("Bad Cinematography).
