Maurice this "lecture" was amazing, those kind of things can make a difference. By the way I really enjoy your commentary style, you prove that chess is not boring at all. Thank you, and thanks to CCSCSL, you are the best.

Wow, an amazing presentation by GM Ashley. I still have his autograph from the mid 90s when he was still an IM. He was walking down the hotel hallway and I said "Mr. Ashley, can I have your autograph?" and he replied "Sure, make it quick" and I spent the next 20 seconds fumbling for a pen LOL A true pioneer; he signed my scorebook on a blank page.

When I hear about this kind of outreach work it makes me yawn. But when I see it done like this I well up with admiration and cheer in support. Maurice is brilliant at this.

i wish the kids would be more interested.. i used chess in everything just like maurice says.. learned in the 3rd grade.. the way my brain thinks is indicative of chess.. and was able to get around 2000 level.. in only 72 tournaments by myself.. i stopped playing when went to college.. and now i have my own business.. and now my bucket list is to become the 4th black grand master in history.. Im coming!

And I thought I taught chess well. Watched a few of your classroom vids and was totally impressed. You are 100% correct about using chess in your application for schools or employment... I know, I've been doing it for 40 years. Keep it up Maurice, your doing the Lords work in helping these teens!

So? There are many other reasons you could have been asked for the interview.

Maybe that's the only thing that he put on the resume, not even the name... just "chess"
@rustyspygoat40897 жыл бұрын
I would be impressed if he said nothing but just looked at his resume with the word 'chess' on it and actually got the job, but he probably uttered a word and therefore didn't get the job

@principiisobstaetrespicefinem8 жыл бұрын
+Tj Pelser He's using ChessBase I think, which is arguably the best chess analysis program. As for websites, there's chess24.com, chess.com, lichess.org, and many others. If you want a chess program for free, try searching for Tarrasch GUI, it's pretty decent.
