Some puzzles are underrated because lower rated players would instantly play Re7.

That last puzzle definitely seemed like a GM level puzzle. I mean, the fact that you have to calculate a piece sac and a deflection tactic in order to know which move is correct is insane. Typical engine level tactics.

The last one was so dynamic! For a machine it seems easy enough but for us it's so tricky

That last one, after about 5 minutes of thinking I said, “I’m just gonna watch Jerry figure it out!”

That last one was super tough. I actually thought about Re7, but couldn't find the line after that.

My puzzle rating on lichess fluctuates between 2300-2400 and I didn’t see that last one. The knight defense on e3 was pretty insane as well.
@tiranor
@tiranor 3 ай бұрын
same here, it seems there are sometimes outliers, way harder than their rating, and sometimes there are puzzles with rating above 2300 (even 2500) which are really easy to spot and solve

The last one delaying the knight check is more forcing because after the queen and rook battery is in place the knight checks (Nb6+ followed by Nc8+ to deflect black’s rook protect b7) brings home the win. Tricky puzzle!

That last puzzle is awesome. Qxc7+ Ka8, Re7 Nxf3+, gxf3 Qd4+, Nfe3 Rb8, c3. And if Qh8... Nb6+ Ka7, Qc5 to set up double check and mate. Holy 🐄
@HansPolak
@HansPolak 3 ай бұрын
I thought Qb6 after Rb8. How do you defend mate on b7 or Kc7? White has to put the queen on c8 and Kc7 wins the queen. I struggled with the other puzzles.
