There is actually something that was missed! After Kxg6, you can fire an RT-2PM2 Topol-M cold-launched three-stage solid-propellant silo-based intercontinental ballistic missile to attack black's remaining pieces. But I know there might be beginners watching so if for them you might also want to show the line where you use an anti-tank guided missile instead. For a good example you could use the BGM-71 TOW anti-tank guided missile launched from an M3 Bradley Cavalry Fighting Vehicle tracked armored reconnaissance vehicle. This gives white a material advantage and puts them ahead in development.

@backwardpawn18224 жыл бұрын
This all boils down to are they willing to hold the h column pawn in place or move it out of harms way when the bishop threatens it. Yes it's backed by the rook but some players play a defensive game, especially newer players. I do believe he should have pointed out that the h pawn needed to move, but still this is pretty solid. More experienced players will either let the first pawn go and develop else where or decide it's not worth moving the h pawn because it already has some protection.

A good trap I've been employing to great effect, also in the Scandinavian: 1. E4, d5 2. D4, exd5 3. Nc3, nf6 It looks like you are going into a Blackmar-Diemer. Black expects f3 now, but... 4. Bc4, nc6 5. Bf4 D4 is now attacked twice and only defended once. Black wants to trade queens off and be 2 pawns up. 5... Qxd4 6. Nb5! Black cannot take the bishop on c4 because nc7 is checkmate. So queen swaps itself off on d1, and rook takes back. Computer evaluation is +2 when queen takes d4, +3.5 after it swaps off on d1. It's completely lost. White's pieces are very nicely placed now and black loses castling rights after nc7. Black can trade off and simply be down a piece or try to hold on leaving white with a growing advantage and mating attack. I have a 2000 blitz rating and black queen has taken d4 every single time I've employed this opening (ratings 2000-2250). This is practical and effective even against high rated opponents.

This line is not guaranteed! You must realize that all black has to do to avoid losing his queen is to protect it with a piece other than the king. The line would go like this: 1. e4 d5 2. Nf3 dxe4 3. Ng5 Nf6 4. d3 exd3 5. Bxd3. At this point white is threatening Nxf7 winning material. However, all black has to do to avoid your trap is play 5...Nc6! Black is protecting his queen on d8 with his knight. Now white cannot make this sacrifice because after... 6. Nxf7?? Kxf7 7. Bg6?? whether black moves his king or takes it, white's 8. Qxd8 can simply be taken with 8...Nxd8 and white is two pieces down. So at the point of 5...Nc6, white's sacrifice is impossible. White is a pawn down at move 6, although he does have a better chance for developing his army. But the point is his queen trap is defused. You must give all lines and not leave out important ones. Thank you
@domenickpalmieri32307 жыл бұрын
Well yeah nothing's guaranteed that's how chess is and that's why it's a gambit, If you're playing a blitz game it may be too late before the realize He never said it was always sound lmao
@FunnyAnimatorJimTV7 жыл бұрын
But the creator of the video should explain exactly what's going on and not leave out important details. He could have included a line in the video on Nc6 showcasing some extra moves that white can play in response.
@domenickpalmieri32307 жыл бұрын
I agree, but if he's trying to show how the tennyson can be successful, he isn't gonna show a line where it doesn't work out. Also I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure he says somewhere in the beginning that this opening DEPENDS on some of blacks moves, I could be mistaken though.
@BruceCinema13377 жыл бұрын
at 4:12 he said "it does not matter what black plays, the game is all yours". Well that was a lie because black still has plenty moves that can negate this attack, e6, Qd6, Nc6, Nd7 to name a few. If black goes e6 and you continue with the push, black will force you to lose more material including your queen with a check from the dark square bishop and eventually put black in a winning position. I do not suggest this gambit at all!
@domenickpalmieri32307 жыл бұрын
and you do not have to, again at no point did he ever say this is a perfect, sound opening, he is just showing us a possibility that is the tennyson gambit. If you do not like it, as i do not either, then do not use it. Just a trick that is being shown.

@prathambabaria58347 жыл бұрын
No offense but this video is not great here are the following reasons why: 1. After 1.e4 d5 2.Nf3 de4 3.Ng5 NF6 4.d3 ed3 5.Bd3 Bg4! Will save everything 2.let's say that white does go with exchanging the pawn then after the ANY move mentioned in the video like a6 or c5 then white can not take the pawn on f7 with his knight because if he does then the h pawn is still on the 7th rank which does not allow the bishop to come to the g6 square.
@ChessTalk7 жыл бұрын
+Pratham Babaria For your first point, that is, if bishop moves to g4 & threatens the white queen, this move can be easily diffused by moving the pawn to f3. Then the bishop will be in danger and it has to move. Once it moves, you can continue with the same plan mentioned in the video. You can still easily capture the queen. I actually didn't quite understand your second point. Could you please clarify the moves you are talking about. I will help you out on that also. Thanks anyways for your analysis...
@prathambabaria58347 жыл бұрын
Chess Talk well U said that after u take the pawn with the bishop black can play any move but it will lead to the captor of the black queen. What if black doesn't play h6 (which u played in the video) and black instead plays some random move like c5. Anyhow back to the main point, if the knight then takes the pawn on f7 and the king recaptures then the bishop can not play Bg6+ because the h7 pawn hasn't moved. BTW I appreciate ur time on responding to my comment. Thank you.
@ChessTalk7 жыл бұрын
Yes exactly, even if the h7 pawn does not move, it does not matter. You have to continue with the same sequence of moves I have mentioned in the video. Give check with your bishop. Black king cannot go back. Either he will capture your bishop with king or with his h7 pawn. The point is you still got the opponent's queen which is important. I hope you got my point!

Chess Talk let me give u a example game with this "trick": 1. e4 d5 2.Nf3 de4 3.Ng5 NF6 4.d3 ed3 5.Bd3 Nc6 6.Nf7? Kf7 7.Bg6? hg6 This position proves that black is now winning tremendously.

At 4:6 when the knight captures the pawn, instead of the king having to move, the opponent can even move his bishop to G4 which will have our queen also put to danger...
@adabucks4153 жыл бұрын
Pls explain at 2.37. If white attacks with queen as you suggest, black can block with pawn and threaten queen which has to retreat. How is this a bad move for black????
@MrMrfreedom15 жыл бұрын
Question, at 3:05 if black plays an Option 4 Qd5 doesnt that kind of spoil the whole trap?
@sup3rspik3y-gamesandmore455 жыл бұрын
It would be an alright move but this will enable white to develop the pawns quicker. By threatening the queen with pawns. The queen has to move back and waste an additional turn. This would mean that Qd5 would be a bad move, considering the fact that you are handing center control to white. Who can bring out other pieces without blocking each other now that the pawns are out. This may also apply to O-O or O-O-O.
@jonispatented4 жыл бұрын
Just move pawn d3 which defends your knight with the bishop and then you can start chasing the queen away by developing the knight to c3. Carry on from here as normal.

nop, will not change anything. Only Rook g8 will do
@shyamrangapure83123 жыл бұрын
yeah exactly, you can play Nc6 or Nd7 or Bd7 or Qd7, all these 4 moves can make this gambit fail and then you are a pawn down and bad position with knight and without central pawns, its quite risky
@towkirshuvo973 жыл бұрын
If black plays Nc6 then the trick won't work. Then you can just continue the game normally. And just one or two pawn loss is no problem at all. It's no loss. In a chess game you'll get lots of opportunities to capture your opponents' pawns as the game progresses.
@septianasandewi74176 жыл бұрын

Prateek Gupta well no black queen can easily then capture horse in g5
@xHannibal5 жыл бұрын
Traubensaft 17 Actually the bishop on c1 is protecting the knight but yeah bishop to c4 is kinda a dumb move since the queen will likely just take your queen and you’d have to take with your king meaning you couldn’t castle and would be in a weird spot.
