@suenorriss48633 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the great video. In the C3 Siicilian lines, what do you recommend after knight e7 when the opponent plays Bg5 rather than Be3. This is a really annoying move, pinning the knight to the queen and threatening to play Bf6 where the bishop is supported by the e pawn and directly opposes the dragon bishop. Swapping bishop for bishop leaves a white pawn on f6 which leaves the threat of mate on g7 if the white queen gets to h6.
@JamesCantyIII3 жыл бұрын
Yes that is a weird one. You can just castle and if Bf6 you can take it and play Nf5, the Queen is now hitting the pawn on f6 and you can usually win this pawn by just taking with your queen!
@suenorriss48633 жыл бұрын
@@JamesCantyIII Thanks so much for the reply James. Yes, I think Bf6 loses a pawn for white. Probably the bigger annoyance in terms of the plan you recommend is that if White maintains the pin on g5 it is very difficult to proceed with the pawn to f6 plan. If h6, g5 etc is played to kick the bishop back to g3 then the pawn structure is much weaker so f6 might not be safe to play. What do you think of if Bg5 then Qb6 double attacking the d pawn and b2 pawn.
@suenorriss48633 жыл бұрын
Actually, I just ran that line through Stockfish and it gives about -0.10 so equalized at least. So not a bad line anyway. Regards, Tony Norriss

13:41 Question about this position. In another video you say its bad to play g6 and e6, but what do you do about 4.Ng5? All I can see to stop white from taking on f7 is to play e6. Can you give me your thoughts on that? Thanks.
@JamesCantyIII3 жыл бұрын
Great observation! There are ALWAYS exceptions in chess, and you should always remember that. With that being said, your best move is indeed e6, attacking the knight on g5 and if it gets defended or moves back to f3, then you play d5! The e6 pawn push is all about playing d5 as quick as possible.

Hey Canty! I'm wondering about the mainline you give after 8. Bb3 a5 and white simply plays 9. O-O. The engine thinks that after 9...a4 by black white can go 10. Nxa4 and after 10 ...Nxe4 white has 11. Nb5! with pieces that can hardly be dislodged from the queenside. Black's seeming best try 11 ...d5 runs into 12. Bb6! Qd7 and white has a huge advantage with near untouchable queenside pieces and a black light square bishop hard-stuck on c8. If white plays d6 instead (or maybe does so earlier) the position is still passive and the engine heavily favors white. Did myself or the engine overlook a good move for black, or is the engine just overvaluing whites advantage?
@JamesCantyIII3 жыл бұрын
Yes that line is an "engine line" and harder to play as a human to be honest, requires more precision than the lines I provided, and black can go wrong very quickly and lose!
@doffdrayton13023 жыл бұрын

😂😂😂 that is what we call the "off the head chess" where you have to just play based of principles. The next move there could be e6, or d6, as the c5 pawn is hanging so you have to do something about it! e4 Qh5 is garbage so I recommend playing around with an engine to see how they crush it!
