Stockfish says that after d5, white plays g2 and it's still equal. Theres a whole line for it that goes pretty deep. Black eventually can win the g pawn but stockfish doesn't seem to care that much apparently 🤷‍♀️

If white ever played this, i would think 1 of 2 things. Either (1) They meant to play g3 and had a mouse slip or (2) They have some serious prep. I just looked it up, over 6 Billion games on LiChess, spike attack has been played 37k times with only 42% win rate for white.
