About this video:
This is a rating climb series (or speedrun) where I play games against players from different rating levels, starting at 600 and working all the way up to 2200. In this video I play players in the 1200 to 1400 range. I try to focus on the thought process behind the moves I'm making. You will learn all sorts of chess strategies, chess tactics, chess ideas, and chess concepts. I talk about how to think during a chess game and what the thought process should be. Beginner and intermediate chess players will benefit most from these free chess lessons.

That first game makes me so angry. Whenever I’m playing at 1200 I swear my opponents find amazing moves at times. He literally just blundered everything 5 minutes up

I don't know how you feel about it, but, he seemed to play well beyond is 1345 rating! It was only when he started rushing that he blundered.

1300 players are stronger than most of us think😆 many of them are really good at the early game and with their positionings, they can also think around 3-5 moves ahead but we do suck at the endgame😆

Interesting to know your thought process. Be aware of the h3-g4 Kingside pawn attacks weakening your King. I think some prep before the attack or follow up for those weakened squares could be analyzed especially preventing Nf4 ideas from the Black for instance and the potential weak pawn on h3. Maybe you could take out the Knight first or push the h-pawn all the way up not sure but this is worth exploring. I have the same problem coming up with plans in similar positions.

After Nh4 Nxf5 Nxg6 you're threatening to take the rook so after pawn takes, you take their knight with your pawn. Not ideal but doesn't lose a piece. Not sure if Ne3 would do anything

@@ChessVibesOfficial I dunno. I just want as much educational value as possible. Which comes from hearing your unrushed thinking. Maybe it would make sense to do 15m games now that you're up to 1400 rating range. The players are getting more serious. It might also make sense to do 100 rating increments instead of 200. So 1400-1500, 1500-1600 etc. But I don't know how much you're enjoying making this type of video compared to other video styles.

I agree. Would like to hear your thoughts on end game but you are always low on time so it is not possible. First game, I did not even understand what happened at the end until I watched in slow motion with lots of pauses. (I'm rated 700 though, for whatever thats worth, and I struggle with speed chess. My blitz rating I believe is like 200 or lower. I can't chess quickly. My mind does not work that way).

Becoming a GM has to do with getting the GM norms, more so than just the rating so sometimes you can see GM's who are weaker. Sometimes really strong players don't take the time to get the norms so they don't have GM title but could easily get it if they tried to.

Work?family?Where they are geographically in that tournaments are too far and they are not willing to or dont want to travel?? On another note what are your chances in becoming GM. You are not far off but i do understand even a 100 - 300 points are whole continents away at your level. Nevertheless you think you will get there or do you believe you have plateued out so to speak???

Yeah Darryl you have to play in tournaments with a certain number of GM's from certain number of federations I believe, so depending on location, it might require them to travel to a bigger tournament if there's nothing local to meet the requirements. Yeah I've thought about becoming a GM. I don't think I've peaked, but it's a question of how much time can I commit to studying. I would need to improve quite a bit as well as go to tournaments and again which I haven't done in a while since starting a family. We will see if I get enough support from the channel to do it full time and maybe I will make it a goal! Thanks for asking!
