Simon Ive watched your streams, dee vee dees, and courses for probably at least 10 years now. Always appreciated the humor and dedication to chess. Your an all timer and deserve much more recognition than you get in this crowded chess content space. Heres to many more years sir.

Perfect timing, Simon! As a player of the killer dutch, I've been trying to get a better feel for when it's appropriate to go into a stonewall structure and so have been experimenting with it This video came right on cue!

Wow so many great (and fresh at least for me) ideas for the dutch, where normally ive been more or less trying to follow your course lines. loved the way bishop was coming in to action at the end.

Simon you are my favorite chess content creator. Always able to articulate one-off moves into the grander “ideas” of the game. Not only helps with openings but also gives a good concept of how to play in the middle game. Keep it up!

I really enjoyed this. I've played the Dutch since the 90s, and used to play the Stonewall all the time. Since I began watching your streams I've been trying out the Classical and having great fun with it. I as I have so many fond memories of the Stonewall it is fantastic to get some top level instruction on that as well. Thanks heaps Simon, and keep the long play games and instructions coming as these are invaluable to duffers like myself.

Smooth as greased weasel poo on a door knob! I tried the Stonewall when Aman Hambleton did a speed run on it. Not sure I ever learned it very well, but when it works it really works.

Come on the Stonewall is awesome! It's a wall made of stone! Fun fun opening. I like Bd6 but I don't know if it's better. Finding that killer Be3 move was worth the price of admission!

I play Stonewall as white AND black. I get ridiculed for it, but I find I can beat significantly stronger players with it where I can't with mainstream openings. They don't like rook lifts and queen swinging over to the Harry file with all their pieces sealed off on the queen side ! A great anti-London opening leaving London players clueless ! I will certainly be purchasing the course when it is available. Let's get Simon his 100 000 subscriber KZbin plaque. People who don't know about his channel would love his enthusiasm and ability to explain stuff. Once he gets fully into the algorithm I'm sure it will be exponential.

I'm really surprised that you don't try the leningrad dutch, or the nimzo indian. Even in the nimzo you get dutch like positions. Is there any reason as to why you don't play those systems or explore them if you're looking to try new openings?
@josketobben3 ай бұрын
Simon does play a kind of leningrad against the dutch london. I've played the nimzo myself, and even though you can indeed go for dark-square, dutch-like strategies, it requires some cooperation from the opponent. If white wants to play it purely strategically, you have to follow suit. And of course that's not the williams way!
