Wow. He simply doesn’t have the fear factor that many other super GMs have when facing Magnus. He recently also beat Magnus in a marathon online bullet match. Though when it comes to the classical time controls Magnus just seems to be (like Fischer in his prime) “on another level “ and I just cannot see Firouzja beating him in any future classical time format match just yet. And of course in the future, to unseat Magnus from the chess throne Firouzja will have to battle his way through a candidate tournament which will be full of older more experienced players. But then again I once said the same thing in the mid 70s about a certain up and coming young Garry Kasparov having to succeed through any future candidate matches to face the then seemingly invincible and more experienced Karpov.
@sporadicdrive58844 жыл бұрын
Yeah, agreed. Caruana and Carlsen are on a completely different league when it comes to Classical. Alireza is a monster in short time controls but it'll take him a while to reach that level in Classical

The only person invincible is th 1 tht doesn't go in2 competition.If Fisher hd faced Karpov he d have lost.if h hd survived Karpov he d hve lost to Kasparov.the young generation will always takeover.
@dekippiesip4 жыл бұрын
@@thewarlordscalling6537 yeah that's something I also wondered. How can adult super GMs that where prodigies themselves as children lose against other prodigy children? It's like a never ending story, Fischer beats older chess GMs at a very young age, Magnus draws Kasparov and beats Karpov, and now he himself gets stunned by a prodigy. But I would assume 14 y/o Kasparov is not as good as 40 y/o Kasparov, 14 y/o Magnus is not as strong as 30 y/o Magnus. But is that actually correct? So does each generation get better, or are older players getting worse, even when only in their late 20's to 30's? Because this loop can't go on forever if prodigies actually got much better when older. If a Young Magnus beats adult Kasparov, then a young alireza beats adult Magnus, then some young prodigy in the future beats a 30 y/o alireza, etc you would expect someone to beat stockfish in only a few generations. Doesn't that then prove that chess players deteriorate even at a relative young age? It's the only explanation I can come up with in order to explain this never ending sequence of prodigies beating champions.
@donramanayake15052 жыл бұрын
@@dekippiesip I feel deterioration with age is real and that is one explanation. However, chess is a mental game, and psychology plays apart. Its hard to quantify these and I doubt Carlson as a kid would have beaten Kasparov in match (classical time format) say of 6 games...meaning that an adult Kasparov was in fact stronger than a child Carlson. Fact that Carlson could match Kasparov in a one off game is testament to Carlson's prodigious talent, which of course we can see now.

I watch every stream there is with Carlsen and I have never seen him being outplayed mentally. In fact, Carlsen played pretty weakly for his standard. Chess has never been about chess talent alone. If you look at Karpov vs Kasparov stats you will see that chess has little to do with who the winner was. At such a genius level, it is the mental strength that wins the match. Many people claim, it is not official, It is like a practice, it means nothing, etc... Guys, Magnus is killing all other players on this same internet in all these friendly events. He takes chess seriously even when playing on his phone while traveling. Carlsen was under pressure all of the time and try to pressure him with chess - impossible. He said, "oh I missed this move" so many times. We can not state Alireza will rule chess in the near future but damn the chances are not that low. It is now something quite normal to see Alireza outplaying him(even in official tournaments by the way). And just to add, Carlsen has been a fan of Alireza for a long time. He(Magnus) probably has better judgment than all of us when it comes to chess(and not only) :) What a rivalry. Good luck to both of them

Narayanan is extremely underrated outside Indian chess circles. He's only 4-5 years older than Firoujza, too.

He is so good in classical format. his rate is 2728, he is a super grand master and all of these achievements only at the age of 16...2728 is highest rate that someone has at 16 in history of chess.
Congratulation. Your sound quality was much better today. Thx for fixing.

Chess24 can you please show the ratings of the players? It's kind of annoying not to keep track of those.

Look at the reaction at 1:05:25 ,after that firauzja fired up and crushed Carlson.

What a talent this youngster is! Amazing to hear his thought process, although I generally can't keep up with his calculations. Lol. I am rooting for him to continue to improve and become a challenger for World Champion in any and all of the formats!

My boy is still Dubov, I think he can be WC one day, in any of the three types of chess - classical, blitz, or rapid. But I'm not going to be bear false witness, Alireza is a beast. He's fun to watch and very talented. I especially liked him beating Hikaru in speed chess championship last month while he was wearing a Chessbrah shirt. Props to that

Bullet and blitz Chess is worth preserving. Forget about long game at the top level because it’s virtually sterile. Consider the championship matches against Karjakin and Caruana, it was just decided thru the rapid tiebreaker. Bobby Fischer was right all along, it’s by and large all theory in the openings. Let’s all go for Fischerrandom Chess.
