Alireza shakes his head after losing a pawn knowing the game is most likely over Me after being down a queen : I can still win this if they also blunder their queen like I did

It happens all the time in games between lower rated players. I have checkmated some players with many pieces down and also drawn the game by stalemate while opponent had 8 queens.

Maybe Magnus insisted that he would not play another world championship match unless it was against someone from "the next generation," and he specifically mentioned Firouzja, because he knew he would totally dominate. But then again, this is Magnus, so did ANYONE really stand a chance? TBH, I didn't like Magnus saying so publicly that he is "better" than the other players. Even though it is true, it lowered my admiration for him. I don't think that saying such things is dignified, especially for the world champion, who I feel should be more gracious and giving credit to his opponents. Others may disagree, but it's just my opinion.
