​​@@prinakghosh9692 There is no immediate loss for GM Duda but what Duda could play? ...His pawn at d3 will never be a queen. White will play Bc3 to attack g7 pawn. Moreover, Magnus is material up. So, it appears Duda can only play because of playing but unable to avoid defeat in the long run. Generally, GMs once understand that there is nothing in position, they simply resign to keep their energy for the next coming game....But it is also true " you can never win a game by saying- I resign". Thanks ...

Great commentary. I hate when people show variations and try to show the next like 5-6 moves and then someone makes a move and you lose your place following it. This was flawless execution by magnus but also the commentary.

It took me a while to find it myself. Black has no options. HIs bishop and king are stuck. The BEST move would be to offer a queen trade, but then Magnus has a bishop and rook versus Duda's bishop. That's a loss right there. All Carlson needs to do is get the H pawn out of the way, and then he can slide the queen up the H file for checkmate, or, slide the queen back diagonally to the back row. Black has no good moves and is low on time; he probably only had a few seconds on the clock when he resigned.
