Ashwin Subramanian is a tech expert, a supporter and lover of chess players and also a collector of chess books! His collection is different from that of regular collectors. He likes to not only have well known books, but also new ones which have been released some days ago! We visited his home in Bangalore after the WACA celebratory event and Sagar Shah shot his collection. Also a cameo by the World Championship Challenger Gukesh at the end of the video.

More than 1000 chess books? I have too. Mine is probably the biggest private collection of chess books in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I have been buying chess books since 1962.

Thank you so much for making this video. He is a very humble person and always answers my DM on Instagram. Always watched him at the events with the players and used to wonder about him and later got to know that he supports Chess players a lot from behind. Unsung hero!!

Hi Sagar. I also love your videos. I know you are a technically well equipped person. Do you ever thought about an (AI) background noise reduction tool? This would help you a lot in some videos while keeping it authentic. This is not a critic. It is designed to be a constructive feedback. (I, of course, know a lot of your videos)

It's a priceless, wonderful collection. Excellently categorized and catalogued! Please keep doing such videos @Sagar; I liked the Venkat Saravanan's "book collection" videos as well! [Obvious bibliophile here, in case it was not apparent earlier Sagar, if you have followed my comments!]

You read All of them? I don't know the rules yet of this game. I have a question . If you can answer it.Most players open the same, why do they do that? I play defense strategy first. Like when i play the computer on the highest level,i use defense strategy. I get a stale mate. Maybe there's something I'm doing wrong. .

Chess book collections are cool. Lovely Collection. But seems a shame there not all out sitting side by side on a bookshelf. Seems also a crime to have books behind other books. Having categories is cool .... my layout is World Championship matches, Tournaments and Matches, Players, Game Collections , Endgames, Openings, Tactics, Training, Chess Misc including Chess History
