Truly Awesome video! I love your videos and your look back to a time period which I feel is forgotten about in railfanning. Thank you keep up the great work.

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. That time period is surely missed. I hope to keep posting more and more of this stuff as time permits. I have tons of it downloaded on HD's. Thanks for watching...

In those early days of CSX, I used to see a lot of Chessie and Conrail engines helping out with the CSX trains. I used to watch the freights go by in Sykesville, Md. on the old B&O line. Brings back memories! Great video!! Thanks for sharing!

Nice vid. At about the 2:22 mark, is the lead loco an SD50 or a 60? Didn't know chessie had either. The old chessie scheme still looks good.
@1jackdk8 жыл бұрын
Thanks 25mfd. Yes its an SD50 in the lead #8560. Chessie had 43 SD50's, and they had 10 SD60's. They were sharp looking, especially in Chessie paint. Thanks for watching. Here is a picture I took of a couple of new ones at Connellsville, PA. www.flickr.com/photos/jackdk/16855719286/in/album-72157652169388769/

Nice pic of that 8626. The Chicago and northwestern purchased some SD60s for service in the powder river basin back in the late 80s. They didn't perform to well though. Coal service is brutal and it became quickly apparent that the SD60 wasn't the loco for that type of work. They moved them out in manifest freight service. That was a better fit.

I never knew the Chessie owned SD60s. Thought the last ones they bought were SD50s. I know the last locomotive the B&O marked was SD50 # 8595.

More fantastic stuff Jack! Not quite tier 4 compliant those old Geeps..LOL I guess after seeing all this in person, today's rail fanning seems a bit boring..LOL Where has all the fun gone? I also have a signal that I bought from work, I haven't set it up but it will go up one day. Thanks for these great clips. Cheers Gregg.
@1jackdk8 жыл бұрын
Thanks, glad you enjoyed them. They had no idea what Tier 4 was back then LOL. Those where the days for sure. I surely don't go out as much as I did back in the 70's-80's and 90's. You are right. Everything looks the same anymore, and it gets boring. GE's have basically looked the same for decades. Thanks for watching...

Why does CSX 6594 have somebody in the cab, even though it's trailing?

They usually deadhead crews, so they didn't have to taxi them. Thanks for watching...
