I originally learned the Jobava London from Ginger GM's course so it's quite funny to see him falling for a trap in this opening

I mean it’s nothing serious in a blitz game, but the line is pretty tricky to deal with if you don’t know the move by move stuff well.

I like Simon because he tried hard and did all the work to become a grandmaster and now he doesn't try so hard and just has fun. I watch most of his videos because of this. You must really know the Jobava London to beat a man who made a course on it.

The traps surrounding 6.a4!? are well known to players familiar with the lines. So it's pretty surprising that GM Simon Williams, who purports to be an expert on it, and even has a Jobava London course, would fall head first into it. Even in a blitz game. Alex is something of an overqualified IM. He spots plans and tactics so quickly. I wouldn't be surprised to see a GM title in his near future.
@AlexBanzea
@AlexBanzea 2 жыл бұрын
I’m sure he was familiar with the lines, it’s just that he couldn’t remember the move by move stuff in a blitz game because on b4 black’s accurate way to play is …Bxb4! first. This video shows how tricky the Jobava London is to deal with even for experienced players.

GM Simon William played Jobava London course in a 15-minute game so he had more time to think not in a hurry situation like this game of a 3-minute blitz. He made mistakes and blunders in a nervous situation, i guess. An example was the youtube of Ginger GM with the title: Longer Chess Games #63 The Jobava London System

1:10 - I'm not sure +1.0 is a "free win" for lower rated players 😅 Titled players might be able to regularly convert that sort of advantage, but a pawn up is hardly decisive for beginners.

@@AlexBanzea Looking forward to see courses on your own website, do you already own a domain? I would be the first to buy, I think you have the best Jobava content available, and explain it in a very practical way. I own the GingerGM course, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't cover these lines in it.
