More people should be watching these vids for Caro ideas. Absolute gems. There is a 3h one of Caro lines that’s just a free course basically. Analysis of top level play with so many nice details. Amazing content

That back-rank mate issue was super insightful. Helps understand why developing the light-squared bishop is important.

I’m going to show off here and say that I actually saw the Bf4 defence - wandered if there was something wrong with it at first because you didn’t mention it during the game.

The third game was weird because I believe the guy had a very specific opening gambit idea, but you avoided it by taking the pawn 3... dxe4. The Landau Gambit: 1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. Bd3 and now suppose Nf6 4. e5 Nfd7 5. e6 fxe6 6. Qh5+ g6 and then a queen sacrifice 7. Qxg6+ hxg6 8. Bxg6#.

To save his Queen in game 1 he would have needed to sac the bishop by taking the pawn on A6 creating a safe square on B5.

Maybe it's just my 1100 elo brain speaking for itslef, but isn't Bf4 on 13:13 just winning for white? Basically 1. Bf4 Nf3+ 2. gxf3 Qd7 3. Bxc6, and the queen can't take back because she's defending Rxe8#, so Rf8 by Black to avoid further losing the rook and White retreats its bishop
