Love your videos, Alex. One question, I'm a complete noob and been learning Jobava London for white. But what easiest openings would you recommend for beginners for black? I'm guessing Caro-Kann vs e4 and maybe KID against D4...or would you recommend a diff opening against D4? Thanks!

If you are below 1000 I would go normal London, if you are 1000 go for Jobava London as white. For black caro-kann and Slav (or KID if you have more time for chess)

The first game is an excellent example of how the black squares on the queen side are used when the opponent makes a mistake. White's a4 move is a pure misunderstanding of the position because he is not familiar with black's a5 move and what it is for.

I don't know how you managed to make the King's Indian of all things easily digestible and understandable, but you did it. Another excellent video. Is it possible to try to play games with increment in the future? You are clearly able to outspeed lower rated players in a time scramble but since so a lot of your time is spent explaining the ideas to us you end up with much less time than expected and no increment leads to a lot of unnecessary losses.

I found the last game the most instructive. Everyone I play brings the dark squared bishop out like this. Its rare I see any other lines at 1200ish rapid level. However, all these games were extremely instructive.

15:35 Re8 is bad no ? Opponent could have played O-O-O, and if Bxe5 Bxe5 Rxe5 then Rd8+ fork gets back the bishop. Therefore, I thought Bxe5 first would have won the piece with Bxe5 Re8 f4 f6

First, thank you for the vid. Second 16:10 This is the main problem though Alex. Your opponents are making massive mistakes that put you in the lead -3.0 to -5.0 from nearly equal positions in these videos. Is this how real 1500s should be playing or are you just cherry picking these examples? Are most players cheating? Your videos are super helpful to me, but they don’t help against an engine. It’s very discouraging sometimes to encounter so many 1100s playing better than 2400 Fide OTB levels. But that isn’t your fault 15:30 And Question about game number 2: you said to go Re8 as a puzzle that the opponents king and knight are on the same file, but the engine says that was a massive setback. - It says to go Nc3 to force the knight trade, then Re8 to capture the enemy Rook with a bishop check leaving the enemy knight doing nothing. Had white castled O-O-O here, game would’ve been pretty equal again Nc6 Nxc6 Bxc3+ Ke2 Re8+ Kf3 Bxa1
