I never would have considered X-metal for a river table, but WOW. Beautiful. Also, your freehand routing technique is impressive. Clearly, you knew how to handle the torque of the bit against the wood's grain flow. Nicely done.

Looks very cool and nice router skills! Personally, I wouldn't want a bunch of holes in the middle of my table. Would be a good idea to use the metal for a cable management strip at the back of a desk though.

Normally I do not like to see metal legs on such a wonderfully crafted wood top, but in this case it seems to work. I might have countersunk the leg plates into the wood, but overall it's a wonderful piece sir. You visualized a project and used your skills to bring it to fruition. Well done !!
