I agree with you completely. I love singing this. So many ways. In his temper. "Nobody grows for free" always seeps out of me with this Bill Withers ease. And whoa. That line is so powerful. When I am alone in my house, I am allowed to feel completely free my with voice. That's when I belt this out Gospel style. My beginning roots of signing. Back when my Jr. High music teacher said to my father, "Have you heard her sing? Have you thought about lessons?" She gave me private lessons for years. The tiny redhead nicknamed "Freckles" with the deep voice of an old soul. Shout out to Mrs. Breidenburg! I'm 40 now. :)
