This style of music and format of presentation, is probably the most generally entertaining type of guitar playing there is. Especially when executed at this level.

That is a stunningly beautiful Gretsch guitar and great sounding too! Doyle is an amazing guitar player. I see why he wanted to take it home with him.

Some years ago my dad and I went to a guitar show in Birmingham England at the NEC ( National Exhibition Centre) . We walked into this room and this great guitarist was playing country, I think he was promoting Taylor Guitars. My dad and I just looked at each other and said Wow who is this guy ??? Neither of us had heard of Doyle Dykes at that time but we made sure we knew a lot more about him from that day, our socks were properly blown off !! We wondered why we hadn't known of him before then, but I suppose living in the uk doesn't help.

I had a similar experience in West Virginia. He was playing for Taylor and I managed to see him twice. Its incredible to be so close to that kind of performance. He's the nicest guy.

He’s not a household name in the States either. It’s a shame because he’s every bit as talented as Tommy Emmanuel and all the other CGPs (Certified Guitar Players)

If this one was just hanging on the wall, it won't be set up like the guitars he performs with. That alone would slow it down a bit, but Doyle would sound good playing a Swiffer. Great job Doyle. Big Ron

This guitar doesn't respond as fast like his guild on those fast liks. The Gretsch do is a great guitar, a true classic hall of famer among the electric guitars

These "guitar greats, are great"...but if you watch their "facial expressions"...well.. I've always wondered why,... they seemed so much in pain ??.. I have played guitar all my life, & have never experienced that much pain...maybe I should try it...as it may improve my...??? sound ??? Just wondering...??? ...LOL
@Khorney9 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing its because of 2 reasons. A) They "feel" the music, so its not really pain, and B) The shit they play can be difficult.
