I used to be a big Chevelle fan back in the 90s/early 2000s. Good song. I agree with your reaction. Very different from what I've heard ftom them but love the beautiful desperation of this. The emotions are powerful. I imagine someone swimming for their life way out in the ocean and hoping the waves can carry them to shore because they have no strength left in them. Always a glimmer of hope just beyond their reach. I want to listen to this again. Thanks for sharing this.

Can't go wrong with Chevelle! One thing I've always loved about Chevelle is, they have an amazing drumsound!

Thank you so much for the shoutout and for giving this one a listen! This track was a bonus for online orders of the North Corridor, and then they released it on B-sides later. I love this track for its solemness and its beauty and its also great whenever I want to throw someone off with some Chevelle -- they always recognize Pete's voice but have to clarify that its Chevelle lol.

Door to Door Cannibals is the best song off The North Corridor. Chevelle has 4 masterpiece albums -- Wonder What's Next -- Vena Sera -- Sci Fi Crimes -- Hats Off to the Bull

Hi Mike! CheVelle is so diverse. They can go so heavy, and go so emotional and deep. I’m so glad you can appreciate both sides of this great band. The North Corridor was a heavy one. If you are going to dip your toes in that one, try “Last Days” or “Young Wicked”. The goat on the album cover is an homage to Black Phillip from the movie The Witch. “Remember When” from NIRATIAS is another one to check out. I think you will love it.

it's something like 3 in the morning here, I can't sleep, but I'm listening to some good music, I'm not too familiar with Chevelle, but this song has The Cure like sound to it

I wonder if the song slowly faded out over such a long time as if to emphasize “when is it going to end?” meaning the crumbling of society. Or, I could be reading too much into it. I haven’t the heart nor the stomach for a steady diet of the news and/or media, so I limit it to news once a day, if that, just so I’m not totally in the dark.
