That's a weird mix of Cadillac, Chevy, and Buick based on an ATS......if it has the twin-turbo high feature V6 in it and manual that would be an interesting take on a Monte Carlo.

I drove an 89 Beretta in high school and by the time i sold it i had replaced everything on it multiple times and even the motor once. Kid i sold it to was still driving it after i went through my next two vehicles after it ... i should have keep it. I sometimes still look for one like it to add to my car collection.

I had an 88 and sold it. It was my first car. I bought a 1990 Indy edition. I've unfortunately had to completely mechanically restore the thing LOL, it's been a nightmare.

ATS coupe would've been the perfect platform to bring the nameplate back on. Cheapen it up a bit. 4 cylinder and V6 engine options. And with the RWD/AWD platform, I really think it could have produced some sales. That render really gives ATS vibes to me with a chevy front end.

My first "nearly" new car was a blue 5-speed '89 Beretta GT in November of 1990. The '80 Accord sedan that I had been driving was getting too small to be a practical second car for our family and, frankly, I thought that I deserved something newer and sportier than the tiny little green 4-door. I loved that car, and I've been a fan ever since. Some day I would like to replace it. Anyhow, about 9 years and roughly 120,000 miles after I got it, it cooked the engine computer, so I replaced it, only for it to eat the replacement a couple of months later. It didn't matter, new or used, I replaced them two more times with the same results. I cut my losses in December of 1999 and traded it in on a used '99 base model Cavalier coupe, the one with the ugly, gray plastic bumpers. The original owner decided that she didn't really want to drive a stick all the time after all and traded it in on a nearly identical base Cavalier with an automatic. I HATED that thing! Fortunately, my doctor prescribed for me a certain medication that meant that I couldn't drive, so I sold the Cavy. Oh, darn. Two+ years later, the doctor changed my meds, meaning that I could drive again. I needed a car, but our budget meant that I was pretty much limited to around $4,000. Not much that's any good in that price bracket. A 6 year old Civic? A 5 year old Cavalier or Corolla? So I did the logical thing and got myself a 48,000 original mile 1966 Corvair with a very hot rebuilt engine and reworked suspension for $4,200. I had Corvairs off and on for over 20 years at that point and knew them inside and out. But that's a story for another day. (P.S.: My current daily driver is a 220,xxx mile 2006 Cobalt SS, my first, and probably last, new car. Chevy has a long, proud history of building fun compacts, but the one in this video doesn't look like all that much fun to me. Today, it would probably be an electric anyway ! 🤮)

I had an 89 GT too, in a 5 speed. That was my first stick. I straight piped it with cherry bombs. It was obnoxious lol.

I like the car,but im sure Chevy will put a dumb 4 cylinder with a single turbo on it. It needs a v6 6 speed

I think your spot on about it vibing z24. I loved the z26 I could never afford one so I had a base model with 2.8 and swapped a z24 3.1 mpfi and baught a set of z26 saw blades. That thing would slide the front end all the way to town I remember smoking a Mercury XJ V8 92 mph hitting 3rd gear.

Not saying I know anything in the tuning Community, but there are Rumours GM may be working on a DOHC VVT single turbo 3400. Producing around 330hp 380tq. The 3.6 little brother. Just like the 3.1 little brother was the 2.8l and so on. Lol good old GM back to the old ways but now with lots of Holden Australian engine technology..😂

Didn't GM get sued 30 years ago by the Italian gun maker Beretta ? GM can't use that namesake and no, GM isn't adding another car to its lineup.

They had an agreement with the Beretta gun manufacturer to use the name but GM had to pay them for using the name. Don't know how much or the details exactly but they both kinda got what they wanted out of the deal! I had an 89' white GTU 5spd that i absolutely loved back then! That exhaust note was pretty darn raspy!

@@CruizersMotorsports Nah, your video was a fond reminiscing of the classic Berettas of your youth. I'm still a bit irked to hear the Camaro is being put out to pasture, yet the GM CEO would even entertain the idea of bringing back the Beretta, makes no sense to me at all. Too many American icons have been scrapped, like Pontiac, the Hemi V8s, & now the Camero. American gearheads are losing our ability to do what we do. Create V8 monsters that are insanely fun, & awesome...
