I'm sorry mate but we both know GM only shut down Holden was because the Aussie's were engineering upgrades on the Commodore models of cars faster & better than GM itself. So, they got sore butt syndrome & put the boot in & shut Holden down. But in saying that the Aussie's government itself wears blame here as well for not fighting for the brand like they should have at the time. This dirty little attack on Holden is why I will never purchase any GM or Ford product in my lifetime. Like with ford I have issue because of the new mustang as it's not safe enough to be a bloody road car as the first time it gets into a side impart accident everyone in the back seat will be hurt in some way something I have witnessed in nine accidents now. American standards are to poor till compared to Aussie or even NZ standards. My advice to GM & Ford is pick up the standards or watch sells nosedive bigtime in this part of the world same with America Parts as I have had to return so much shit in the last three years as its just not up to standard to keep doing business with them.

One of my favorite auto memories was when a friend got a new Z/28 in 2015. We were doing our monthly car meet in the canyons and through out the day he had given other people rides. We were all laughing when he pulled back up to drop the person off because every person that came out of the car had a shit eating grin across their face. The fastest I've been in a car was that day. We were coming around a long sweeper and we were booking it. When we got to the parking spot I asked him about how fast we were going and he said "oh, idk. We basically topped out 3rd gear, so maybe 130?" I chuckled and got out of the car. My friend started laughing and asked "Why the grin?" 337 didn't even mention the dinner plate sized brakes in the front. The first time we had ever seen carbon-ceramic rotors. The car braked so hard, I could feel how thick the carpet was under my feet from the G's pushing me forward. Also "flow-tie" is such a banger name for the cut-out badge in the grill.

As past 4thgen FBody, 5thGen Camaro and current 6thGen Camaro owner, I always felt the platform was under appreciated by GM due to living in the shadow of the Corvette. Corvette is a sports car, not muscle car, never had been. It has 2 seats and has no models or packages that are meant to appeal to a mass market like the chevelle, mustang, torino, duster, charger. All of these seat 4+ and share platforms with family cars or are themselves undeniably family cars like the chevelle. Corvettes were built as sports cars to be sports cars and to be driven fast and are nothing like muscle cars built to go fast, but as stock often lack the handling to be driven fast. (They might win in a straight line or oval, but would be suicidal to run that 3,800lb A-body down a mountain road at 100mph

It never reached full potential because they never wanted it to take away form the corvette. An LT5 in a ZL1 would have been insane. I'm a big NASCAR fan, my favourite driver uses a Camaro, and seeing one of those make a name for itself on the international stage at Le Mans was such a proud moment.
