I know it won't be as good but can you just "long tube" through the fill tube and suck the old fluid out - would eliminate taking the pan off. ???

It's an idea. But, (and this is the reason I think they did not put a drain plug) you won't be able to replace the filter. Maybe one can do this "long tube drain" method every 2nd oil change. It's a good idea 💡

Will it start slipping if the transmission fluid is old?
@ChrisSofos Жыл бұрын
Yes it will. The old oil will create gunk. The clutch band (a stop and holding mechanism) will be covered with gunk. and it'll make the band to stick and that can cause transmission slipping. On the other hand, changing a very old oil with new one, can also cause transmission slipping, because of the gunk being in there too long. In this case I would recommend not only to change the transmission oil and filter, but also put a transmission oil additive in there. I personally used in many cars the Revitalizan EX120. It is made in a way that it goes only where heat exists (friction) and it engages the frictioned parts to work better. I hope it helps.

What did you use as the glue for the gasket?
@ChrisSofos Жыл бұрын
I used the JB WELD's Hi temp RTV. But not for sealing purposes. Just because I wanted to hold the gasket on the oil pan without moving while I was placing it onto the transmission. I put the link on the video description as well.
