Question- I need a head gasket- the dealer said because some of the coolant was in the oil - if they replaced the gasket its possible that the bearings could go out - so they suggested to just change the motor 🤔 - he said you fix that and 2 week or 2 months now your back because the bottom end went out - what would you suggest- I have 160.000 on now the motor I'm looking at only has 35.000 on it - I figured if im gonna spend 2200 for a head gasket- it maybe smarter to spend 2600 on a new motor plus install for 2 or 3 gran at least ill get another 5 yrs plus out of it and basically a new car - what do you guys think - help lol

Man that is a tough one. The man has a point though, something else may go wrong after doing that major repair which would stink. Does the new motor have a mileage warranty?
@jb-iw5yd3 жыл бұрын
@@CarMechaNick yes sir 5 yr warranty so ill go with my first thought and your opinion on this one - I figured it will increase the cars value a little bit and still have a engine and install warranty from the dealer huh

@@jb-iw5yd That sounds like the safest route. Good luck with it all! Just keep up on maintenance, not that you don't, she should last a good while. Sometimes these ecotec engines require you to listen for excessive chain rattle 🤣😁

If he had a pickle fork he wouldn't have had to mangle the spindle like he did. NEVER beat on the spindle like that!
@CarMechaNick4 жыл бұрын
Pickle forks always rips boots. I own them I just prefer this method. Just have to be careful with aluminum. Sorry you don't approve. Some people use different approaches.

@@CarMechaNick True, on some models it's unavoidable, but a boot is far cheaper to replace than a spindle.

That's a valid point. Thanks for commenting and witching! I like the feedback!

@@CarMechaNick Good video regardless. I am getting ready to do this job myself.

Thanks, I did this job a while back. Ive found it easier to take off the intake manifold and remove all accessories and such. I should reshoot the video and I will. But good luck! 👍
