Common issue with impalas. I’ve replaced my passenger temp actuator and now replacing the mode door actuator. I have a 2012 Chevy impala LTZ. As well as the high and low beam plugs burn out. They remade them with better plastic. They go bad on most GMs. It’s important to note that you need to use AC delco parts. I tried doorman and it broke faster then it took me to replace it. No other brands on Amazon last like the original AC delco parts. Save yourself the time. Order the better brand from the start. This is based on my experience and my opinion. I am a daughter of a ASE certified mechanic as well as electrical engineer. Being female my dad made it a point to teach me how to repair my own vehicle. Among other things.
@christopherryan6974 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the detailed step by step process. I’ve taken back my impala to Carmax each time ($50) per visit and I’m done with that. I’m hands off when it comes to engine maintenance but you definitely taught me something here! Thank you so much.

I have replaced several of these on a 2008 Impala. I think the problem is due to a poor design issue as I live in a extremely hot southwest climate and the heat is the cause of the repeated failure. This video was awesome and helped me fix both of my ac articulators on my 2012 Chevy Impala . They are still a mega pain in the ass to change out but if I can do it, anyone can. Removing the left side pin for the glove compartment was a pain because of the tight space but I got it out by using a bent bobby pin and pushing inward with a screw driver to get the removal started until I yanked it out completely with a pliers. Just need a 1/4 ratchet set with 7/32 and an extension for the articulators. The one closet to the driver is easy but the one on the passengers side will have you cussing and getting creative with the ratchet/ extension just to loosen the screws. You will have to move a large coil of wires by popping/cutting off the plastic mounting just to get to the passenger side articulator. I only had two screws on both articulators. The link for parts I needed on amazon was correct and every thing is working as it should. Thank you for this video.

@@theresawenzy9543 The screw probably stripped the plastic panel it attaches to and it no longer secures the actuator. If the actuator is not tightly secured, it will do it again. There is no fix for this. Either just deal with it, or unplug the actuator. It happened to me and I just gave up. The only fix is to replace the entire assembly and I'm sure that is thousands of dollars.
@GarageBoys4 жыл бұрын
There’s a couple of actuators, probably now another went bad
@TheHuskyGT4 жыл бұрын
@@GarageBoys In my case, I replaced the three actuators. The driver side was a pain to replace and now it did it again. I fiddled around with it and noticed that when I push it hard against the panel that screws into, it will stop doing it and opens/closes the vent normally. As soon as I release it, it starts doing it again. I found out (as I mentioned) that one of the screws is stripped and won't secure the actuator properly. Now it might've been my fault, but I'm sure I was careful not to tighten it too much. Either way, I would have to tighten the thing pretty well to secure it properly. I gave up. Left it in cold and unplugged it. When winter comes, I'll plug it back in, set it to warm and unplug it again. Thanks for the help though.

My sons car has the same issue. After doing the upper and lower intake valve gaskets,inlet gaskets,water pump gasket,valve cover gaskets,and passenger side lotor mount and got it all back together and upon turning it on that noise started as what your showing here. I'll replace that when he has time to pay for the part or parts we need. It's a 2007 impala with 77,000 miles I got for 2,700 bucks from a friend who didn't want to invest the money for a mechanical jib and so I bought it and did all the work myself. And let me tell you, this car was leaking worse than a oil factory lol oh and I had to do the transmission coolent line and a new whiper motor,drivers side handle and I had to replace the rear light assembly due to cracks allowing water to seep into the lighting assembly. Other than that she is purring like a kitty now. We still have to do the front and rear struts,stabilizers,sway bars and some other minor fixes. For the price I can't complain about it. I do all the work so it doesn't cost me nothing but my time.

Thank you so much for the helpful video :) Can't believe stuff like this is free to watch! I got lucky and had the clicking problem with the actuator on the left side of the passenger glove compartment, which is the easiest to remove and replace. It really is as easy as removing a couple screws and a connector. Btw I have a 2013 Imapla so yes, this will work on the 2013 model too. I only installed the replacement a few days ago so I can't speak to its durability but it is 100% compatible and works perfectly so far. The amazon reviews seem to say its durable enough. Even if it goes out in a couple years, its so cheap and such an easy fix you might as well do it again.
