Love the truck. We have a 1984 K20 with 75k miles, 6.2 diesel that we use for our business. Great truck, not the fastest truck but it does the job with ease.

If you go to a truck spring shop they have all those pieces in stock. The leaves, the hangers, the clamps, etc. They can hook you up easy- whatever you want.

Maybe the guy put heaps of springs in there because he was putting more than a tonne of weight on the back even modern trucks at least you down under the working class ones have more springs and the review say they write harsher than the other aspect soft ones meant for great nomads in caravans love those people full of knowledge but a ride like crap when they’re empty until you stick half to 3/4 of a designated load the back in theBack and then they beautiful

1/2, 3/4, 1 ton are nominal ratings only, they've stuck around because thats how much payload many trucks originally had (talking about before the 30s-40s). The truck in the video, a k20, would've actually had a payload of around 4k from the factory. A k10 probably around 2k, and a k30 5-6k depending on GVWR. These ratings are still pretty similar today, although current 1 tons have a payload of 7-8k generally

This truck had a hard life as a ranch truck in west Texas for a number of years. Almost solely driven by 18 year old, hired ranch hands pulling severely overloaded stock trailers with it. They added a bunch of suspension to a 3/4 ton truck when they really needed a 1 ton or heavier.🤔

Awesome work. Do you have issues smoging your older trucks where you live?
@milkcrate824 жыл бұрын
In Texas, if the vehicle is 25 years old or older, no smog testing. $7 safety inspection only. Flash the lights, honk the horn... that’s about it.
@doughboy19664 жыл бұрын
milkcrate82 Had no idea of that as I live in N.E. Tx close to the Red River. That is awesome news finding out about the smog inspection.
