You never said that it was called the 490 because the original price was $490.

It was not a car of the 19th century. The engine was not what could be called a "powerhouse". William Durant was the president, but not the "owner" of Chevrolet.

They still weren’t as good as the Model T Ford. That leather cone clutch and no synchronized transmission made for a car that was difficult to drive. I’ve driven one of the 490s and they also don’t handle very well.

@@leopoldonotarianni8663 Thanks for your response! Both cars are actually about the same size. The T had transverse springs and most of the major components were made out of Vanadium steel, the same alloy as the tools!
