I realize your video is just shy of a year old but I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it, I'm a mid 50's do it herself old farm girl and this the season for storm drop clean up. A few years ago I picked up a nice little homeltite textron xl auto oiler, in a craftsman hard case for $25, I believe from the original owner, it has a 16" oregon bar and far from under powered. this little thing runs amazing and is light enough for me to use even with my back and arthritis issues. But holy crap it's an oiler, the bottom of the storage case is very well oiled.

One way of getting the check valve out is to do like this: 1. Remove flywheel and clutch, to get access. 2. Remove the outlet oil nipple that is at the end of the pump. It pulls right out. 3. Inside where the nipple sat is a small hole. Smaller than the hole for the plunger on the right hand side. 4. Use a piece of strong steel pin, like a straight piece of spring wire, that fits just inside the small hole. It must be straight. 5. That wire will go inside the hole, through the center of the coil spring inside of there, and hit the steel ball, the check valve. 6. You will need a distance on the right hand side to accommodate for the length of the pump cylinder. 7. Use a vise and gently push the whole assembly out to the right, in one go. Do not hesitate half way, or the steel ball might fall down, and the pushing operation will be cocked. You most likely do not have to take the check vale and cylinder out. Use the plunger on the right hand side to check for positive spring action on the check valve. I had to take this pump assembly out on a Super 2 that turned out to have the coil spring inside all messed up, probably from the factory.

I believe the video that you show where you’re looking for the duckbill valve tube is the XL i bought from you lol it’s still has the 16 to 1 ratio written in sharpie on the right side of the handle just like the one in your old video ha ha still running like a champ 😅 I love that little saw.

This was only saw my dad ever used. They are almost bulletproof. I have both if his xl 2 and they are still running strong.

Great video, made me go out and look at my Super 2 I picked up at a yard sale. No sintered tube, just a duck bill. Now I know why it's making an oil mess. Thanks Leon.

Leon, this absolutely clears up the plumbing for the saw we've been talking about. I wasn't paying attention to what tank the Sintered tube came out of and I thought it had come out of the fuel tank and that's what I had my head set on but obviously I was wrong. You also cleared up for me where the flow restrictor goes in to the pickup screen. I was totally confused about that but its clear as a bell now. The one reamining question I have is the fuel tank vent and Duckbill. The Duckbill goes in to the hole on the fuel tank with nothing set in to the Duckbill, Correct?

i would say correct, but then again i never even heard of a duckbill until a year ago or so

Correct, as long as the tank hole hasn't been messed with, the duckbill should retain itself in the fuel tank.

Hey Leon I can't find the oil lines and the duckbill + lil oil filter. I have a Super 2 UT-10520-A. The diaphragm and oiler pump is good. Can u please direct me on where to find these parts?

My oil just pours out thru the bar pad & runs empty in no time flat! Does have a duck bill in place, & a adjstable oil control valve! What is happening with this?

Hey man I've got the Homelite XL automatic Oiler not having no problem with that but I am having a problem with gas running out pinhole I took a gas line put in it and run outside of it so he can drain outside the chainsaw and as long as it's draining it'll run but as soon as I plug it up with a screw it shuts down which I know it needs are what is my problem and how can you help me with this situation

I think that a diaphragm from a fuel pressure regulator for a car carburator looks a lot like that oil pump diaphragm!

Leon nice video On my pioneer there is an adjustment screw from outside ( farmsaw) so that is simple but any idea where that adjustment is on mcculloch? Is that the one on the pump on the inside of the oil tank? Greetings kristof Belgium
