I agree - either you "get" peyote from the very beginning or it takes someone like Allie to make it understandable. She is such a good teacher, she not only teaches the stitch but the whys you would want to use it and how to adapt it to your own designs. Thanks again Allie for hanging in there with us! Jodi=-)

I’m having so much fun making this bracelet! I’m still having trouble getting the pattern started at the very beginning. But with the video I can watch over and over ! Thank you again! How can I make a thiner version? Would I just start with 3 instead of 6? Would I have to use a smaller bead? Would love to hear your suggestions.

Great job but for the life of me how would you make it wider?
@sharjones2633
@sharjones2633 8 жыл бұрын
Hi everyone, If you do not want to add a clasp it is possible to continue weaving and join the chevrons to make a seamless bangle. I figured it out. it is similar to joining a rope. match up the pattern, wrap and measure across your knuckles with your thumb crossed underneath over your palm. It looks seamless and I can't tell where I joined the two sides together. just remember to reinforce the joined areas several times following the peyote thread path. end your thread within and do your half hitch knots. then you are done. voila!!! enjoy !!!

I have a [probably silly] question about the Peyote Stitch bracelet. My question is, would this pattern work the same way with Miyuki delicas? In other words, this same pattern can be used with delica seed beads, as opposed to the larger beads? Lol! Same question, differently asked. Thanks.
@Potomacbeadco
@Potomacbeadco 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, Estella, of course! 😃 You might like to add more rows to make it wider, but stick with even count so it's easier to work. You can print out a peyote template so you can draw your version onto it, that way you can double check everything is correct before you start to bead. The templates are readily available to download from the web, just make sure it's peyote and not brick stitch etc.

@@Potomacbeadco , I'm not sure who I'm chatting with here, but I really appreciate you responding to my question. I'm pretty sure peyote stitch is older than me (or at least as old😊), but it's new to me! I love your tutorials. Allie and crew, y'all are amazing at what you do. I've learned so much from you guys. Thanks a mil y'all, 'preciate it! (Stella in Austin, Tx.)

Hi Barbara, you can print out a page of peyote template and draw the pattern onto the paper yourself. It's just a repeating pattern of ten rows.

Love your techniques and simple to understand instructions; can I use Miyuki Delicas for this bracelet design? Thank you.
@Potomacbeadco
@Potomacbeadco 7 жыл бұрын
Yes Carol you can definitely use Delicas... it is just going to be a lot smaller with a smaller bead. So you may want to add some additional rows to the design.

why do I love Potomac Beads??? because of your tutorials and Potomac's dedication to its' customer base - in store or on-line. Note that I will use regular Miyuki's 'cause I do love the design. Time for me to buy.

Allie please help......I have watched this video so many times and still can't get a pattern going right. Do you have a pattern for the chevron pattern. Or a kit with directions and the blue, crystal beads. Help Help 10-3-2015.
@Potomacbeadco
@Potomacbeadco 9 жыл бұрын
+Virginia Derk Have you done peyote stitch before? Perhaps it would be easier for you to just do a plain peyote stitch bracelet first, before doing one with a pattern. For the beads, of course you can use any color that you want, and we sell tubes of beads with the same colors that were used in this bracelet (or hundreds of others).
