usely the engine light comes on,but if you clean the egr valve the light will go out ,but you will still have a rough idle.

Check egr tube for pin holes or a crack

There are two T30 self tapping torx head screws that mount the egr tube to the back of the intake manifold. You need to take the rear intake manifold bracket bracket off (x2 12mm bolts & x2 M12 nuts) to access them easier. Then reach up from from underneath the vehicle with a low profile torx key. There's not much room, lowest profile torx key is best. The entire job is a lot easier to do if you remove the throttle bottle, vacuum lines and the fuel line connecting to the fuel rail, not much more time to take these off and saves a lot of headache. This is what what worked for me. I have a 2010 holden barina tk (re-branded chevy aveo). Hope this helps anyone doing this repair.

Hey I kept getting an unstable idle changed plugs,coils and filter no luck. 3 months in and it has gotten worst with a lot of misfires. No overheating or shutting off. I’m thinking it’s a vacuum leak. Any recommendations?

Get a code also check O2 sensors. Go check out the Map sensor video I got. I'll try post link in comments. That may be the problem too. Check hose connectors

Trying to remove egr tube from point A next to throttle body and point B from egr valve. Hex screws and 10mm nuts has been taken out. Trying to wiggle the tube out to wrap up but its not going out. Is there more nuts or screws between the tube brackets that needs to be taken out? How did u take your out specifically?

I do believe there is a mount on the tube down past the intake manifold. With one screw feel down there with your hand.

I have an po420 code and i cant figure it out so far I replace cat, both o2 sensors and Egr valve. Next is the tube any other suggestion?

Check the EGR tube for cracks or pinholes. It's cheap metal. Also did you change bank 1 O2 sensor?

Thanks for uploading this. Does it throw a misfire code when there is a pin hole leak on the EGR tube?

If its big enough it will. Because the pinholes cause bigger leaks quickly. Sometime they are hard to see, but it will break soon enough. Then you will see the crack! I had this happen to me two times. So I started searching for a way to shore up this egr tube/pipe. So it would never break again. Its no fun putting them on. lol. Mine hasn't broken again. I just wrapped the fluted area's good, where it breaks when I put my new one on. Still no problems over a year later. Its well worth the $20.00 I paid to keep from replacing it again. They are very thin metal so heat makes them weak and they break. Good luck. If your still having problems let me know.

Here's the video for the Professional exhaust wrap I used. Race car drivers use these wraps on their exhaust pipes. It works good too! kzbin.info/www/bejne/hobOmYx_ncSEqpY Just check all hoses on your Aveo look for obvious signs that something is broke . There are two small black hoses on the intake manifold (one is on map sensor) check those connectors.They are small black plastic hoses with rubber ends. The rubber ends get old and crack.

What did the car act like or do with that tube broken? How did you pinpoint that it was the tube?

It started stalling every once in awhile when i would slow down, like stopping at a light . I would start it back up and it would run fine. I guess it was just pinholes at that time. Then the stalling started getting worse and the car would barely stay runnin or if the cracks are big enough won't run at all. The pinholes turn into bigger cracks. Every time its been in the fluted area. I have a mirror i use to check the tube. I just wrapped the fluted area's and my car is good to go, been running great ever since. Go to a Chevy dealer in your area. They had to order mine but I picked it up next morning. I had to order mine from them. Check out this video for a repair for the EGR tube/pipe. It will help until you find one. I fixed my egr tube like this and it's still holding almost a year later. I made it to the auto parts store bought this proff. wrap and fixed it right then and there. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hobOmYx_ncSEqpY. Do yourself a favor the next time the tube breaks, and there will be a next time, use a small tubing cutter(like plumber's use) and cut the tube at each end. Leaving just the mounting points. Cut it back just before the flexible ribs and simply slip a rubber hose over the tube ends and clamp. I don't remember what size hose I used but it worked out well for me.

@@mikejones-vw6hq hi. What hose/tube did you use? Temperature from the egr valve air/gas are high. Did you use rubber fuel hose? Or heater hose? Or EFI fuel hose?..any dysfunction/melt from heat?

@@kingshonen not sure what type of hose it was, just something I had laying around. I was also concerned about the heat but so far haven't seen any issues other than hose seems to be very stiff now so may have problems in the future. Has been on about 2 yrs now.

my tube is fine it is the mass air flow sencer on the bottom of the valve in take that has a torx bit screw with a little speck in the middle of screw.

Not sure what your talking about. The mass air flow sensor is on the intake hose.

A bit misleading as he forgot to mention the very important hard to reach bolt on back of the intake. Plz pay attention to that if you are making this repair as you can break the tube unnecessarily.

Yes there is a bolt there. Thanks it's difficult recording this repair. It's not an easy job. Mine didn't have that bolt because a crappy mechanic took it off the first time and never put it back on. I think it was another reason mine kept getting more pinholes. Thanks so much!
