Spot on video. Didn’t know about the shroud being 3 pieces. Auto parts gave me the wrong fan wrench but I got it off. Gonna replace the hose’s and belt while I’m at this point with no coolant in the block. Thanks for a great video 👍

I'd recommend fine sandpaper on a straight sanding block instead of metal razor which might nick the aluminum block water pump gasket sealing surface. Otherwise, great video, thx.

So you double gaskets the pump. I’ve never had to do that.

@@BinkaSnail do you do that to your oil filter as well? I went to school for this kind of thing. I’ve never in my life or known anyone mechanic or not do that. Show me where any dealership or automotive shop would do this? It just shows how backyard you are. Does it say in the repair manual to add sealant? Does the box the pump and gasket come with have the sealant with it? Nope. Stop being stupid.

I did this recently and the special tool from the auto parts store, being thin and the nut being on for many years, did not work. So i had to remove the pump, pully and fan as a unit, not easy nor fun. I had to cut the pump apart with a right angle grinder, then get a pipe wrench on the square fan nut, it finally came apart.

Jeez that’s the worst. Tried repairing my F150s oil pan gasket today and quit while I was ahead since I saw something like that coming. Glad you got it figured out!

How much coolant did you add to the radiator to know how full it was or did you fill to the brim?

Why did you end up replacing the pump? Was it because of overheating or was the pump making alot of noise?

It was making a ton of noise, no cooling issues

which fan clutch tool did you use?

I used a 36mm wrench and just the standard fan holder tool

I'm trying to figure out if this auto shop screwed me over because after checking the receipt, price, and the supposedly the different things they did. So if anyone could give me some input that'd be greatly appreciated. 1st of all they never even called me to ask if I wanted to spend this much. They didn't call me until it was finished which when the tow truck dropped it off Friday April 01, 2022 I was told they wouldn't be able to get to it until Wednesday the following week. So I was very happy to get it back early until I had to pay. Anyways they charged me $444.99. Which this is what was supposedly done replaced water pump/belt, serpentine belt, replaced coolant, and other shop materials. So I'm confused with the 2 belt charges because isn't there only 1 belt for all of the pulleys, which would be the serpentine belt. Like I said I'm just looking for some advice before I show my ass and make a fool of myself. I'm no mechanic but I'm no idiot and I normally would've done this myself but I'm still recovering from knee surgery. I really need some input guy & gals. Thanks in advance.
