I'm the VERY proud owner of a 2017 Chevy Cruze Premier. I now have 5,400 miles on my car and don't regret the decision to get the Cruze one bit. I'm still amazed at all of the technological features that the car has. It's plenty powerful, very comfortable and very nice on the eyes. Push button starting, power everything, heated seats and wheel, leather everywhere, keyless entry to the vehicle and trunk, remote starting, auto engine shutdown, the list goes on and on. I highly recommend this car...you won't be disappointed!

+Midwest Mopars you're totally correct dude I've driven 14 cruze it's very sluggish however the 17 cruze is nothing like it, I just borrowed one as courtesy vehicle while my 14 captiva gets tuned let me tell ya the power and suspension 10x better rides better than a 185hp truck I also own a 3.9l Monte the Cruz's power train is better I'm a fan now ... was gonna go foreign far as comfort go, not any more Chevy's stepped up their game... Quality and power!

I think that 42 mpg highway is a little optimistic. I went on a 500 mile round trip this weekend and averaged 36.1 mpg. As others have mentioned, the car has speed, power and comfort, as well as being very sporty looking. If I had one to choose one thing to nitpick about, it's the way the steering wheel "tilts". It doesn't actually tilt but shifts upward and downward when a clamp lever is released. I much prefer a true tilting wheel via a small lever and U-joint setup. I think this is common on most vehicles, likely due to cost.

One thing that I also experienced first hand was how safe it was. It has one of the highest safety ratings in its class with ten airbags. I crashed into a huge hog on the road. The damage? It was not that terrible. The front looked like I hit a small deer. The front is usually completely demolished. It’s usually crushed in. Not with Cruze. It was so safe. When the cops showed up the kept asking what car it was cause they were impressed with how safe it was.

Stop start on the Cruze was imperceptible because of the small engine. Only downside is that there is no defeat button to keep the engine running. Still, you will hardly notice it. The next gen Cruze will only be an upgrade for you if you stick with a Premier trim. Avoid a Toyota Corolla. The best thing about the Cruze is the $26k sticker price, all-in, worst-case scenario. Check for incentives and look for the one you want. It is a great car for the money.

@soilmanted7 жыл бұрын
Did you measure the gasoline and the actual miles or did you just read that off the fuel efficiency display on the dash? Car speedometers and odometers tend to be inaccurate, and as well, electronic control unit estimations of mpg also tend to be inaccurate. Typically they show better mpg than you are actually getting. I have tested this on several cars. The mpg dash readouts tend to read out about 1.5 to 2 mpg more than I actually measured with measured amounts of gasoline, and a professional grade external odometer. Your car is likely actually getting about 33 mpg. That's good though for mixed driving, considering the weight of the car. Quite good. Cruze is a perfectly acceptable car, as is a Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic or Hyudai or Nissan. It's strong point is its cabin appearance and comfort. I haven't driven the second generation but I did not find any fault with the steering on the first generation. It is only one car, so I can't say that they are unreliable but the owner did report to me more need for warrantee service than I typically hear from toyota owners. His air conditioner lost refrigerant and had to be recharged. A few other small things went wrong. He was inconvenienced by having to bring it to the dealer for warrantee repairs on failed parts, more times than he had to do with his previous car, a toyota. Like I said, this is only one car. I really enjoyed driving it.

Is it reliable where it would last me at least 7 years. Low maintenance cost?
@NewCarSpin6 жыл бұрын
If you paid full msrp of $26k for a Premier, you're looking at around $3,500/year in "value." I wouldn't advise keeping a car that long, but you could. Even if you pay the car off in 5 or 6 years, the car is still worth a few grand. The problem I have with keeping an inexpensive car for so long is that insurance companies will be quick to write off the car if anything happens. 7 years down the line, it may be worth about $5k. All it takes is one bonehead to crash into you, and it's a total loss. If you had replaced tires, brakes, motor mounts, etc - just to keep it on the road, you are out all that money. You should look at keeping it for about 4 or 5 years and trade it in. It would be worth a couple grand more and you'd have equity to put about $5k down on your next new ride without having to write a check.

50% down. Hold onto the rest. Your car payments will be lower than any lease, use auto-pay and schedule it for the soonest payment. This allows you to have cash in the bank at all times, just in case you want to buy land or something like bitcoin - at least your cash isn't all tied up in one asset.

New Car Spin it won’t be a piece of shit if you take care of it. All you people say Chevy is bad. No, it’s the owner. The owners don’t take care of them. And I’m return. The car shits on you because you don’t care about it, it’s like a horse. You got to take care of it. Wash it. Feed it. Give its nutritional care. Everything. My grandpas 2001 Chevy Silverado LS V8 has 386k miles on it. Still running good. Gramps had to get a new transmission for it because it’s old. Pretty expected because it’s 20 years old. Same thing with my impala. It’s still newer. But it needs a new transmission too. It’s only 9 years old. But it has 145k miles on it already. And apparently my parents don’t like keeping maintenance with the car. So. Now you can say it’s a piece of shit. But it still can race. It’s still fast. It just has trouble getting into its correct gear. And it seems like somethings clogging it. As the RPM rises. It kind of pushes like the computer tells it to keep going even though I can tell the engine wants to give up. But thankfully the computer forces it to keep going. I think it has the limp home feature just like the Cruze. I read with the Cruze, that if it breaks down. The car will keep running even though there’s something wrong. Say like car is having problems with the gas, engine failure, or oil pressure issues. It’ll keep on going no matter what , so it won’t leave you stranded just in case. I think the mileage it will go up to is 50 miles. But my check engine light has been on since the June. So. Thank god nothing has happened.

I bought my 2016 Cruze Premier (white) in October 2016 for an out the door price of $23,400. MSRP was $28,640. So far the car has been great. I bought a 2003 Saturn L200 brand new and paid $20,000 about 13 years ago and that car was bare bones! My brother bought a new Mercedes Benz coupe and it DOESN'T have heated rear seats like my Cruze. I still am trying to learn all of the bells and whistles in this car. I probably will never use half of them. My best MPG was 34.5. I average 28-29 mpg. The car only costs 25$ to fill up. I did just order some white bodyside mouldings because the door gets dinged easily.

Any news on the new Cruze Diesel?
@bmw8037 жыл бұрын
I get on average 50 MPG and my average speed on the highway is 80 MPH. So it's VERY good on fuel. I just bought one 2 weeks ago. It's a very nice car and SUPER QUIET. It's even more quiet than the VW Jetta 2015 I had ( that I got involved in an accident ). The VW obviously handles better in curves, but it was built very cheap compared to the older models. If you drive a lot, definitely get a TDI Cruze, but if you just drive it around the city at low RPM, then make sure you take it on the highway at least 1 hour per week at full speed, otherwise the DPF ( Diesel particulate filter ) can clog up and that's BIG bucks.

Any income is better than no income. Despite popular belief, you don't have to save up thousands for a car. Most dealerships and places like CarMax only need a down payment and somewhat decent credit(FICO Score actually). Most places will let you drive off the lot for as little as 500 down. Obviously the more you CAN put down the better as you'll have a lower payment and interest, but as long as you have a job you can roll off the lot with either a new car or a 1-2 year old used one with less than 20k miles. Just figure out how much car you can afford monthly and save up a few hundred for a down payment. Stay away from those "Buy here, pay here" places. Stick to dealerships and other reputable places like CarMax.

Doesn't always have to be a new can be a up to date used car. And theirs always options you can always get a car loan from your bank who will work with you run your credit give you a blanket check and say your allowed to spend such amount of money such as $20,000. And if you need more time to pay off the loan you can stretch the payments only downside is that you typically pay more interest and pay more than what the care is worth if your really into the economics of things.

I hated it at first too, but after a week I hardly noticed it. Did some research into it after I bought my 2017 Cruze and the feature does indeed save up to 12% fuel economy. I was worried about the starter too, but after some lenghty research the car is engineered around the system. Car with the Start/Stop feature have more robust starters with low friction bearings, crankcase enhancements, and deep cycle batteries which give the system the same amount of lifespan as a normal car without the system.

I sold my 06 Fusion to a friend at 100,000 miles and that bitch is still running with no problems. He also has a CX-9 2012 and it's nothing but problems. You're getting swayed by BRAND NAMES. There are a shit load of older Focus models and Cobalts still on the road out there. And yes Cobalt is a shitty and ugly car, but I see a bunch of them out there. *If Toyota is such garbage, then why are over 90 percent of them still on the road today, and have the best resale value? How many cruzes are there on the road that have the best resale value?*
@bmw8037 жыл бұрын
Resale value is a "psychological" scam where only the naive fall for. If you resell your car for let's say 4K less than a Honda, but when you bought that Honda , you paid 4-5K more than this one. So the loss is relatively the same. You're just working with higher ( or lower) numbers. But proportionally, it's the same. Toyotas are OVER RATED and OVER PRICED. They're playing with your mind and make money of your ass.

Be very unhappy with your choice in 3 years at trade in time. Should have bought Toyota or Honda.

LOL! That's pure, speculative bullshit if I've ever seen it. You're talking about depreciation on high-volume, low value, nearly appliance-level transportation as if they are BMWs.
