4.3 Tip to share. I had a strange stalling, skip issue and no codes. Couldn't figure it out. Thought it was the fuel pump. With the engine running I pressed on wires and hoses looking for a vaccuum leak.. I pressed a wire and the engine shut off. Magic moment. The coolant sensor connector plastic stay tab had broken off. The coolant sensor plug was half in half out. I inserted and it started right up. I removed it and it stalled.. crazy issue to locate but I wanted to share with others.

I got a #2 misfire code the other day on my 96 S10 4.3,so I replaced all the pugs and wires,still have the misfire.Rather than spend 78 bucks for just one injector I opted for the 300 bucks and got the entire harness.gonna finish watching part 2 and me and my repair manual are headed to the garage to take care of business.thanks for the video.

Great video! 👍 Nice to have all that room. Had to change a spider injector on my 96 astro. A little more tight of an area to work on. Fuel pressure regulator just went out and I get to have the fun experience again removing all the components and plenum to access the FPR. lol

Awesome. Thanks for the video. Quick Question. For someone like me that is doing this for the first time, how long would it take from start to finish considering I have all the proper tools and parts. I have some car experience. Have changed brakes, hubs, O2 sensors, heater cores, etc. but never anything this difficult. Thanks !

Thanks for the video. I ordered one from motor man on eBay for $165 that is the upgraded multi port fuel injection unit. It replaces the the nozzle style injector with a electric one at the end of the fuel lines.

Hello. Sorry it took so long to reply. The socket in question is a 10mm universal or "wobbly" socket. Most major tool brands have them. Snap On Mac, Matco, Cornwell and I do believe even Craftsman. Yes the are very handy.

Thank you for the video, I have a 2002 GMC Sonoma, and that thing has a lot of power and uses a lot gas, I like the power, but I much rather would have a bit less power and save on gas, is there anything one can do? like smaller injectors or something? Thank you

what were the symptoms the vehicle was having, i have the same engine in my 2002 Silverado. i getting a random misfire only while under load. Do you believe this might be my issue, i have close to 300,000 miles, the reason i keep her, shes great for the construction field.......Thanks again!!!!

Have a question. Got my son that will be 16 in November a 2000 s10 4.3 2wd. Been going through it and doing wheel bearings and all that. Truck has 185k miles on it, when you first start it and give it gas it boggs down and stuff. Once it's warmed up it runs better but still not 100%, falls on its face and stuff but not as bad. It's had new plugs, wires, cap, rotor bug, and fuel filter. What the heck could be going on here???? No check engine light other than when he had it at his mom's he's said it came on a few times. I'm gonna hook it to a scanner tomorrow and a fuel pressure gauge. But I'm stumped on the issue. I unhooked the mass air flow sensor and it died like you cut the key off.
@VortecEmachine2 жыл бұрын
Unplug the maf sensor..then restart truck and drive truck if it runs alot better with it unplugged.. then its the MAF mass air flow sensor (note..transmission will shift hard with it unplugged) you can buy maf sensor with life time warranty at autozone for around 150 bucks or so.

Do you have any idea on what is holding the 5/16" fuel return line in on an 01 S10??? I have done all the things you have done, but there is no room between the firewall and the valve/rocker arm covers. From what I can feel, there is a bolt down there and some steel or plastic bands below the cover that have to come off then the line should be free. I have the one bolt out past that that is on the transmission but the line still won't come out. Any ideas???

My blazer is a 2004 and has the upgraded MPFI spider.I need to change it out but the injectors will not budge. They are identical to the replacement ones in the video.I've read this is a common issue.Is there a trick to removing them?

I've got a question. I just did all this. No lie. Got everything done. Drove it to town. Checked the oil and it was brown and had low coolant. With that said. I did not replace the gasket. Would that be the cause of why I have water in my oil. Iv never had this problem before. Someone please let me know....

Thanks for sharing. Good pointers. --- For a 2000 GMC V6, 4.3 L, does anyone know the typical reliable life of the fuel pressure regulator; and the typical reliable life of the fuel injector / poppits ? Would it be wise to replace the fuel injector / poppits assembly after 200k miles?

I call them Wobble Sockets. They also call them swivel sockets. www.sears.com/craftsman-16-pc-easy-read-swivel-impact-socket/p-00915360000P?plpSellerId=Sears&prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2 I am pretty sure he is using either Snapon or Matco

I rarely respond to comments like this but The shops name is Holiday Fleet Services and I am the dayside shop foreman. It's in Minneapolis MN and I also have steady part time work on the weekends and nights at a Landscape Company in Elk River MN. So Yes. I am a professional mechanic. And no...No body gets screwed. I give any of my off the books customers a 12 month unlimited mileage warranty on Labor. and none of them have ever needed to use it. What shop do you work at? FedEx Kinkos? So, please enlighten me as to what the true purpose of power tools is since you're so knowledgeable about them. While it's true that you should always throw a GOOD TORQUE WRENCH on important fasteners like headbolts, valvebody bolts, main and rod bearing bolts and of course lug nuts but not using power tools is a myth put forward by 95 year old guys that have never seen one used. I know because my Grandfather believes the only power tool worth buying is a corded dewalt drill. All of my power tools are Dewalt 20volt Max and Mac, Snap-On, S-K and/or Cornwell Airtools. And you probably already knew this but air tools and electric tools are BOTH POWER tools. And between my electric and air tools. I have everything from a Grease Gun to a 3/4" drive impact gun with 2,000+ ft/lbs of torque. And sometimes that big gun isn't even enough and that's when you break the big 1" shop gun out. Have a wonderful life!
