Chevy Guys Working on a Ford! What Could Go Wrong?

My brothers neighbor son recently passed away before he could get his project running and we try to help his dad get it going. We are Chevy guys and barely know how to work on them! But we gonna give it a try because we know how much it means to him!

Octagon shaft if you don't put retaining ring on shaft so it don't fall

Those roller rockers adjust like a Chevy, that’s not the set it forget it ford style rockers. They need valve lash , or no compression.

This is off topic but my cousin has a nova I helped setup and we ran Avi fuel in it for years with some orange smelling oil because avi fuel is dry burning. All that to say that the inside of the exhaust system was white instead of black. When we swapped from double humps to edelbrock e-series 210cc heads is when the.060” over 350 came alive. What I’m getting at is the camshaft,rockers and pushrod’s have to be spot on,or you gonna pop a piston. You might need to recheck the pushrod length,sometimes you need longer for the valve train to lign up correct on valves.

Yeah from what he said his son had it built by a shop but then he took it apart to gap the rings for boost, so hopefully just need to adjust the rockers.

@@EdsGarage99 yeah,old school ford guy just needs to adjust the valves. If he only knew the camshaft spec’s he could fix the lash correctly. Good deed guy’s,puts off good karma too. A blessing,,,
