It's 2024 Summer in Florida here and you are the only one so far to show where the filter was and how easy it is to get it out and replace. But really here for the Blower Motor and you are the first to not cut it out. I did not have to either, just unscrewed it like you did. Thanks so much!

From what I’ve seen the older ones require you to cut it out

The #30 relay on the fuse panel on the right side of your center console is the one that weaken over time. If you test the power supply to the motor shows 14+ volts but when you plug in the blower, the volage drops to zero, your culprit will be that relay. It's listed as the Climate Control Relay. If you change the blower moter, change the resistor as well as this relay. Rock Auto has all 3 listed.

That looks like it has been replaced before because the stock one is sealed in it and u have to cut around the motor and get the seal loose then install your new one

Thank you. Finally! A person that gives a direct, no nonsense approach to an instructual video. I get so tired of these people that feel they have to give us a backstory to their life or particular situation. Your no nonsense approach is refreshing and I for one am extremely grateful. Keep it up.

from a non car savvy person, the flange (spelling?) sounds like a made up word. Also, love the flow of the video and love the tool list at the beginning. Is this motor location similar in other vehicles or does it vary a lot?
@ThordysGarage4 жыл бұрын
The "flange" refers to the mounting surface on the outside of the motor, and many vehicles have blower motor under the dashboard on the passenger side, but they can also be found under the hood, that's the case in the Marauder and the Buick
@TheCdubbleyoo3 жыл бұрын
Go to England, find a room full of males at least 12 yrs old, say the word "flange", see how long it takes for the giggling to stop.
@ToniAllen Жыл бұрын
"Flange" is not by any means an exclusively automotive word. That's just a regular word.

For the 2006 HHR blower motor it has to be cut out, not near as easy as the later models as shown

My AC was not working properly. When I turned the car on and passed through a bump, the AC went back to life. But now it is 100% off. Do you think it is the blower? Or might be something electrical? Is there a way to test it?
@ThordysGarage Жыл бұрын
If the blower is not turning in at all, heat or AC it very well might be bad, could be a loose wire, you can put power directly to the blower and see if it spins, also check the blower motor resistor, I didn’t change the resistor in this video and it’s been good since but it’s something worth looking at

I have a 2006 and my heater went out during the winter and how it’s almost summer and my blower went out again and it leaks fluid. I took it to the shop and costed me thousands I want to try and do it myself. Would I still ask for a blower with flanges on it
@ThordysGarage2 жыл бұрын
That sucks the heater core went bad, the whole dashboard has to be removed fix it if I’m not mistaken. did they replace the blower as part of that job? Because it could be under warranty, otherwise any auto parts store should have aftermarket blower that will fit
