I want to commend you for your ingenuity. I have worked on vehicles all my life and do many people are rendered helpless by a lack of availability for parts line in your case (long distance to a store) for things that are so very simple. I have cheverlet lumina.and problm is my remote key is not working and car showing lock.if car is not unlock then i cannot start engine. What i do now can i change the key battery?

Wow that didnt take you too long to find the problem, smashing job jahan :-D. . I would have mistaken the security light for a fault in the key chip or the pickup coil around the ignition, i would have been so wrong. Testing the scanner 12v supply is something i would have never thought about. I dont associate the engine diagnostic port with security as you cant access the security with a standard scanner, but it showed a root power problem :-D. You are so clever, ive said that before, but its true :-D

+zx8401ztv Thank you very much dear sir for so nice and constructive comment. You are right the diagnostic connector have given me the way to follow to trace back the power distribution problem. It proved that 12V power was not available for the scanner to work with which must be available in normal situation. I have no schematic diagram available in hand that is why it took a little effort to trace back the issue. But same time it was a nice lesson for those who are only believing in scanners and for those who are not keeping scanners at all. Regards,

Yes the repair solution was simple enough but diagnostic was tricky and time consuming. Also it was a great lesson to troubleshoot things step by step. Hope you got good understanding from the video.

B4 we can used the car,when my friend mechanic chage the seal of CAMSHAFT sensor and he return it..thats the start of the problem.then some relay become hot..in the 1st we can start it..the fun also continues running,but if you off the fun still running...if you dont full out the relay of the fun it not stop..you wait for a minute to stop the rotation of the fun that usually should stop if you off the engine. Then if you start again..that's now the problem IT CAN'T START only have crank..

Dear sir, Huge respect for you. Best explanation ever. I have a question, as i have Lumina 2004 mode. I recently changed the alternator, spark plugs and battery. But from last 3 days i am trying to start but it is not getting start. As the engine cranks but doesnt start ? What is the issue sir ?

Thanks Mr. Shaikh for your valued comment. There are many reasons for no start condition. The best point to attack is to start by a scan tool as I did in this video. If you get help by scan tool then follow those instruction to repair. Otherwise check for spark, fuel and compression as old days testing and repair as needed. Hope you would troubleshoot and repair properly.

Dear friend thanks for dropping comment. I would love if I could help you in any regard! The purpose of this channel is sure helping others and learning. So there are many things to check if your car is not starting but cranking. First of all you should check the security should not be enabled. You should check one video of mine to get some knowledge how check for security. The video title could be Toyota ECHO no start. Weird no start or something like. You may check my channel for that video and get some idea from there how to check for security. Then if it is security, look for your key. If still problem exist then it may need key programming. If there is no security issue then check for fuel injection pulses and for spark. You may refer one of my Toyota Camry no start video to check for both spark and fuel injection pulse. Also check for fuel that fuel should come to engine so that it may start. Check for every thing and then inform me about your results. Hope I may help you to get your car bring again to life. Sure. But toda 's diesel cars fuel is also electronically controlled. That control is a bit different than petrol Efi. But in latest technology they and duplicating petrol cars with electronic diesel technology that is known as GDI system.

I think you have a bad brake booster. Needs replacement or check for the vacuum line first for any creak or bending.

Just to give a little insight in reference to General Motor. Chevy impala occupied the chevy lumina since its departure in 2001. ( Chevrolet stopped making Chevy Lumina in 2001 and it began making Chevy Impalas)
