A coworker of mine towed a 28 foot camper from State College Pennsylvania to Plano Texas and back over Christmas, and when he came back he said not one issue. He went with a 2.7 after his 5.3 grenaded twice in 17,000 miles. He told me once that he doesn't ever see himself getting anything other than a 2.7, unless he goes to a Silverado HD.

It’s true I’ve had 2 5.3s and now 2 2.7 I’ve now put about 120k behind it and couldn’t go back I put 61k on my last 2.7 and now I’m at 63k on my current turbo max and love it averages 22.5 for its lifetime and has been faultless despite my lesser than average maintenance

Jason, that key fob place in the center counsel (could) be the location where to place your fob if the fob battery were to be dead. They could have a proximity sensor located there.
@Jason-Samko10 күн бұрын
could be. usually to deal with a weak battery you press the key fob into the start button.
@noniespam9 күн бұрын
@ yes usually, but for example my 2015 F-150 has a specific spot located under a cover in the front of the consul. The spot is formed in the exact shape of the fob and if you don’t know it’s there you’d probably never find it because it’s under that little sliding door and then under a rubber mat. Ya I know???

Go drive a Silverado with the 2.7 and you will be surprised. It's got alot of low end torque. If you tow heavy very often no this is not the best choice. As a daily driver, light duty truck, occasional towing heavy 5k lbs plus it's perfect

I have the exact truck (2024). I really like the truck. I picked mine up for $40k after incentives up here in the Northeast. All the cry babies about no V8 need to understand this is not a 4 cylinder from 1996, this engine is very impressive. Oh and reliability wise the 2.7 is far ahead of the GM V8s, dropped lifters anyone?

Nobody wants a full-size truck with a 4 banger! Motor/turbo working way to hard if your pulling or have a load in the back! This looks like the interior of a 12 year old vehicle! The only downside its missing that price tag from 12 years ago!! Exterior is sexy I’ll give it that!! Love your videos Samko!!
@xenogears517711 күн бұрын
Idk.. the 6.2 is about to get a class action lawsuit for failures. So far the 2.7 has been solid. If you’re not doing any kind of heavy towing, 2.7 might be better.
@MichaelJohnson-pg1zg11 күн бұрын
I just seen on the news that Chevy is having problems with a V8 engine problems look like that 2.7 turbo Max is the best engine in the fleet. I think because Chevy been having them same V8 over 50 years.
@KennyRogersRoasters8411 күн бұрын
You have no idea what you are talking about. You act like this is a four cylinder from a Honda civic. It's NOT. it's a gigantic four cylinder that produces 310 hp and has more torque than the 5.3. I have this engine and it is very impressive. Also, what do you drive? Prob a POS.

All the sudden GM can’t build a good V8, thank you cylinder deactivation and government, the 2.7 might be the way to go, I’m a Ford guy and Love no rust aluminum body, but right now GM has a better looking design and I got to give that to Silverado. Drove a friend 5.3 Sierra and it was syrupy slow compared to my 2.7 Ecoboost, but didn’t come with cylinder deactivation and you knew this is a 350k truck if the body don’t rust completely off it, we have salted roads in winter.
