If I have a non-dimming mirror and want to go to the auto-dim, do I need anything other than the mirror? I have the identical truck to the one in the video.

Thank you for viewing and commenting. That is a good question, I may have to research it. But I believe it would be a little more involved than just changing the mirror. Most vehicles that have self dimming rearview also have self dimming side mirrors, if not it could be a wiring thing. Some vehicles are pre wired for added features, some are not. Allow me to do some looking around so that I may give you a more informed answer.

After a few minutes looking around, I found that you can change the mirror. There are some things to consider, the mirror has to have features you currently have like onstar and phone buttons, and there's a harness you can purchase for plug and play. There are links to a site that sells the harness but since I'm not tech savvy enough to put up link. I found my info. On GM and Silverado forums.

What is the bendy part called that holds the visor on?
@ScarzCarz3 жыл бұрын
it depends on which end you mean. do you mean the part the visor clicks into, or the part that is actually attached to the visor? if its the clip, i belive they call it the visor clip or retainer. if its the other end then you would need to replace the visor, the visor and arm are pretty much one unit.

@@ScarzCarz thanks! Yes, the part that touches the visor, to make it fold up and down. It does look like the entire part needs replacing it’s just called something other than the bendy arm.. what is that name?
