I had the same issue, dont know if there's a better alternative but in my case where there was no cable whatsoever left to grab, I ended up prying my hood up with a prybar nothing crazy but enough to remove the screws in my grille. After the grille was out I drilled the bolts out that hold the lock mechanism to the core support and ended up knocking out the rest with various chisels. If you have a square body I say replace that tapped bolt setup with some regular hardware you'll thank yourself the day that your cable snaps

Search up Q-tac fire suppression skids. It can help defend your property from the wildfires it’s the best choice you can make it has a pump and depending on which one you get it has a bigger tank but it comes with the pumps and everything. You can fit it in the back of a truck

On the trucks design. I'd say make it a farm ranch truck based on what you'd use to work the ranch. Then stylize that. Almost like a pimped out tractor that still works on the farm. I think a water tank would be one of the first additions. To me the rest comes form working the land. I forget who makes those all in one compressor/welder/generator. One of those and a vice and space for tools. Maybe integrate it all into the bed so bed space is kept open.
