2024 Corvette Z06 - What changed for 2024 - FULL Walk Around and Review

First, I am a car collector. Excellent Review! Always loved corvettes as my first one was a 1962 C1. I purchased it way back in 1978. Still own it today, along with 6 other vettes, C2, C3, C4, C6, and my favorite, which is a C7 2019 ZR1 Coupe with the 3ZR trim package. I do own a 2022 C8 Z51 package with endless upgrades. I also was on the list at the same dealer for a Z06. After 18 months of no movement, I lost interest. So, I decided to treat myself to an upgrade instead. Just recently took delivery of my 2024 Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato Coupe AWD. It has 631 hp 5.2 V10. It is mind-blowing to say the leadt. Yes, the price sticker was twice as much as the Z06, but they are also not apples for apples! The Lambo is far superior. It's GM's loss! I am more than satisfied with the 22 C8 Z51 at a price point all in at $109,000k. I give GM credit for finally making the mid-engine. It was an 8 month wait for the 22' C8. 12k miles, no issues! I just don't agree with the approach that GM continued with post covid. I just can't wrap my head around C8 allocations and how the Z06 ate into the overall C8 allocations. My wife will just have to settle with her 2022 Ferrari F488 Pista. She's happy, so I am thrilled. The other perk is that she's hotter than her car! Enjoy your rides!

I just got my C8 Z06 on October 3, 2024. I've driven some pretty fast cars, cars that handled well, and cars that got lots of attention. NONE OF THEM can match my new Z06. I do agree that a carbon flash front splitter would be a great finishing touch.

It used to be an old mans car.. Like most people who used to buy Vett's were over 50, Or 50ish.. Now the people I see at the Vett dealer's are like 66, and 75 years old. These are the price of a house to me.. I would never be able to buy one of these.. Who remembers back when Vett's were like 40K/50K for ZR1's??

I love it when people say it was always an old man’s car. Too bad most of these people that say negative things about Corvette are too young to realize that it was the best all-around sports car you could get in the United States for a long time without paying Five times the price with no dealer network to speak of. So obviously when we were kids, we had one poster of a Ferrari, one poster of Farrah Fawcett then Christie Brinkley and a poster of the latest Corvette. So yeah, I guess you can say it’s a car for an old guy or better yet it’s a discount supercar with a dealer network that may actually work on your car in a timely basis for less than a new house. Do yourself a favor. Go drive one with the performance add-ons then tell me the car is not worth the money. Yes all cars will break now I don’t care who you buy them from. They are all designed that way. Way too many plastic and unnecessary Solutions to problems that didn’t exist. Just my two Cents.

What stands out about the Corvette Z06 is it sounds like a Ferrari because it uses a flat crank engine except the main advantage it’s a stunning Sports car that is made to be driven every day, also easy to get any needed parts in the United States because it’s an American Sports Car.

Sound widebody, and a proper front end that does not look too pointy are the main benefits to me. I have a convertible three LZ and in a 0 to 60 race with a 006 I’m getting 2.8 seconds And my friend and his 06 is getting 3.1 seconds because he’s spinning so much off the line His car is faster. I can tell when I’m driving it because of the high Revs

I was stunned watching a promotion video for a 2024 Corvette Z06 which does sound different for the different modes of driving. For that aspect it makes it a unique Sports Car instead of a dime a dozen Sports Car that has same sounds when started, also driving the car.

Big fan of the body-color front splitter. The carbon fiber front splitter kinda threw off the balance for me. Not necessarily the color balance of the carbon fiber accents but moreso the overall design and the fact that it makes the front end look shorter. That's the one thing I don't like about the C8. A longer front end looks more classy, so the body-color front splitter essentially extends the front end for me. Also, I think it looks more edgy and badass. I didn't know that you could actually get the front splitter to be body-color while keeping the ground effects, side vents, and rear wing as carbon fiber / carbon flash painted. I thought the body-color accents was a package. So good to know!

I have a 2022 Stingray 2LT non z51 . I live in Northern California. I have put a little over 18,000 miles on it with no problems so far. But when driving on long trips like from Ca. to Iowa I think what am I going to do if the car has problems in the middle of Utah, Kansas or other states. You probably won’t find many dealers which know much about the car. So I am thinking that when the warranty expires in one year from now I may sell the car.

It is good but hardly the best!!! • GM used taillights from a down line car, Camaro, on their flagship car!! • Instrumemtation & interior design are a mess!!! Look at Lamborghini's Technica, their video is on YT! • Fit & finish is better than the C7 but still lags behind Porsche and Audi • Value - yes, reliability- time will tell. GM has never been known to build reliable cars! The Z06 already has a YT video where the engine failed at less than 1000mi!!!!
