Ironically it was reported a few years ago Glasgow actually had the plague in the 20th century. I guess the song in your Glasgow slums you rake in the bucket for something to eat you find a dead rat and you think it's a treat, in your Glasgow slums had historical significance.

Glasgow used to be'the official 'murder capital of Europe' but I have to admit in past 5 -10 years it's gotten a lot better since the polis changed their tactics, going tae schools and that.

@Floyd1504 So in the whole of Scotland between 2018-2019, there were 60 murders. In Glasgow, specifically, had 13. It's been falling since 1976. In the whole of Scotland, 2017-2018, there were 3,570 offensive weapon crimes - I repeat, in the whole of Scotland. You say a lot of it goes unreported on TV, but I'm looking at stats and reports from NHS hospitals (treating injuries), University of Glasgow, and Police Scotland. Glasgow did have a knife problem, but thanks to community efforts like Scotland's Violence Reduction Unit it's a thing of the past. In fact Glasgow is now exporting it's knowledge to help London and other Cities.

@@carlystrang5101 There's no fancy trick involved in Police Scotland's success in battling knife crime. It's literally a case of increasing stop-searches in hot-spot areas. Forces down south however aren't allowed to do this, as the Home Office has all but deemed stop-searches a Human Rights violation and therefor a cop performing a stop-search with a negative result is more likely to lose his/her job than a repeat knife carrier is likely to get a custodial sentence after a positive stop-search. The result? The largest increase of knife-related crimes (and murders) in the last 20 years, especially in places like London.

@@TheAmateurEditor No it's not just been increased stop-and-searches, the police began treating the violence in Glasgow as a public health issue and resources went towards social programmes to prevent habitual violence and gang fighting in the first place, that's what's caused the huge reduction in violent incidents
