When I 1st read this I was thinking recycled "chewed" gum which sounded gross yet interesting so I had to watch to see what you did ;-) Great idea using the gum container & have to admit I was glad to see that it wasn't chewed gum!!! ;-) Always great to find ways to re-purpose items & this is BEAUTIFUL & LOVE you vintage pins!!! Tfs &... Yes, we would still love to see your craft area, mess & all :-)

You can buy the 3 inch hat pins and beads from Joannes I think. There just any beads that you like and hat pins to add them to. Hope this helps :) xx

I think the reason she glued the cushion to the container not the lid is because containers no longer have flat lids as in past. Now lids have pronounced angle so cushion would appear melted, sliding off table, avalanch-y. I used to keep the flat top ones but don't like the angled ones.

Nice pincushion. you might want to glue lg. glass gems on inside bottom of container so it won't be top heavy.

msmaryj123 I was thinking the same thing about putting something inside. The containers are light weight and it would be top heavy and fall over every time you take a pin :) Still a lovely idea though!

Would it be possible to put the pins in the container and use the lid for the cushion to be attached to and just screw or snap it on

Hi Fi! I'm thinking that you must have sent my parcel? We've moved and when the Mailman brought a large box my neighbors told them I wasn't coming back. Such helpful people! But the delivery person didn't leave a package notice. I couldn't think of anyone who might have sent me anything. Then this morning...I thought of you.
