Chewy, great stuff. I have been trying the over-under (per Bernardo Faria) and the kimura is a question, so I'd been looking up kimura counters and this was incredibly timely. Thanks!!!

Hey chewi, when i roll with people in my gym they always grab my gi and i can’t break their grip and i don’t wanna be rude and smack their hand and get in a real fight. Can you show me how to break those grips without pissing someone off? Thanks

Could you not also counter that kimura by stepping over their head for an armbar?

@Chewjitsu, I see a lot of videos on how to roll/defend against big and heavy opponents. But I have never seen a video on how a big heavy person can use weight and strength against others. Can you please post the opposite perspective for us big folks?

This is my go to pass. Thanks for info. One question, how about when the frame hard against you (for instance one hand against my head, the other on my shoulder) and try to kick their legs free?

Chewy, I've tried this pass and works great on fellow white belts but not the upper belts. When I've finished turning his lower body to the side and knee sliced through his lower leg, I've tried tried pushing the top leg while as I kick my slicing leg to a full mount. Going back original plan of side control always gets me swept and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. On the other hand, the full mount attempt always gets me on a quick half guard. Pls tell me what im doing wrong

Hey Chewie I just bought a brand new bjj gi and it’s a little bit in the legs and sleeves should I hem them or what should I do cause I bought to fit my build but I’m to short for the pants and jacket
@paintdrops7 жыл бұрын
if you put the gi in the clothes-dryer-machine after wash it, the gi gets smaller. when you want to keep a gi big, always let it get dry in the shadow (not in sun, not in clothes dryer machine) after washes it.
@ReaperBlade-ns2hs7 жыл бұрын
sweet thanks for the info, got it shrunk to where the body fits the way I want too, just gonna need to hem the sleeves cause they are still longer then what I need and don't wanna risk the body shrinking anymore

I'm in high school wrestling and my coach is religously against the head and arm. Yet to be honest I love the thing and I want to use it in a tornament, my coach doesn't like it because he thinks its a cheap move and that its stupid. How do you feel about the technique? Do you really think its cheap and I shouldn't use it and I should "earn" my win some other way?
@NoBody-ro3xj6 жыл бұрын
Aaron Van Tassel MMA how is the head and arm cheap? Its a clean solid choke.

Also your coach should be in my opinion figuring out what your strengths are and teaching you how to use them

Chewy please get back to me at least with a reply for this. I'm in high school wrestling and I've been doing it for about a year. But I keep losing, the way it works is if you lose your first two you're out of the tornament. But my first two matches were aginst the guy who got first in the tornament and got second. Also two of the best wrestlers in Nova Scotia one of them being experienced in Jiu Jitsu. And now I'm embarrassed because I have to go back to school and be humiliated because I was last place in a tornament. I don't want to be embarrased anymore, I want to quit the sport

Aaron Van Tassel MMA I totally understand how you feel, but one of the best pieces of advice my professor has said to me was. "In jiu jitsu (in your case wrestling) there is no losing. When you win congrats you win, but when you lose you learned something. Losing is what we see as one of our failures that we look down on what we don’t realize is we need to lose to learn. Hope that helps God bless bro.
