Finally, someone was able to explain the chi square test in plain English...
@jarodchesser1881 Жыл бұрын
I'm in a research course in grad school and am barely staying afloat, mostly because the instructors and materials just throw a wall of jargon at us with, apparently, the expectation that learning these concepts would happen either magically or by osmosis or something. It's like they're trying to teach us a foreign language by giving us books written in that language and then flunking us for not being able to do literary criticism in that language after a week. It's ridiculous. I've got multiple degrees, speak multiple languages, have worked around the world, but they act like we're dumb because instead of teaching, they just expect that what seems obvious to them will be obvious to everybody. This one video is the only resource I've found that breaks it down to a level accessible to those not already part of the "in-group" of trained statisticians. THANK YOU. Is it really that hard to just say, this is what it is, this is what it's for, and this is a quick look at how it works? EVERY other resource I've found either gets lost in this self-referential loop of jargon being explained with jargon; or else it takes 3 hours to explain what could be said in 2 minutes. I've subscribed and will probably spend my study hours here instead of with the useless course materials I was provided.

I never, or rarely comment on youtube videos of people teaching something, but I've been using a lot of your content to try to understand the basics of stats and probabilities, and your content is simply awesome. Really good explanations, voice is clear and friendly, you give the student the will to learn and it's really awesome. Keep it up ! Love from Paris

Thank you for this video. Very clear and straight forward. I have a question, given your example, is a Chi Square analysis appropriate for examining this problem? This is what I mean. For the practical needs of the principal in your problem, if weekly absences regularly reflect a well curve, this is important practical information. That is, for the practical purposes of the principal, this would be deemed significant, even if those absences only fluctuate by a relatively small percentage.
